How long is the insufferable whining going to last on here?

If we had won today, and lost the next game, people would be saying the same things. Go read the threads after the Memphis loss from 2007. Read about the LSU loss in 2006. I still hurt over the Louisville loss from 1980. Most people here probably don't even remember the awesome Louisville win in 2007.

It's a sport where 67 of the 68 teams get their hearts broken. It may be a little too much for Aggies to handle.

Auburn just made its first Sweet 16 since 2019. How many of you knew that?

They will be gone in the next 2-3 weeks. They will come back when the Aggies pick up their first loss next year

It's not whining, more *****ing. And why not? When you pay a coach 3.5 million a year it's on him to either develop a program that meets that standard or take the heat when he's not achieving the goals that level of pay implies. Getting bounced in the 1st round every year doesn't meet the standard. Blowing a 10 point lead and losing by 10 over the course of 10 minutes in yet another 2nd round loss deserves criticism.

3.5mm I wish he's way more than that at 4.6mm only Fred Hoiberg is more overpaid in the top 20 paid coaches.

No whining in general is what I was aiming at. I don't see what the point of whining is.

If you whine, you care about A&M sports, if you don't whine, then you don't care about having a great team. That kind of mentality as a fan I just don't buy.

Just curious when the more sober minded folks can return for rational discussion.

Thanks
The main component of maintaining rationality is avoiding the trolls with nothing better to do. Anyone that has been around high level competition understands there is nothing given about winning. Recruit ratings, rankings, seedings and predictions go out the window.

College athletes have a ton of pressure on them. We as "fans" only pile on with expectations and over-blown reactions. I'd love to see how that game would turn out, away from the rest of the world's attention. I had put our chances against Michigan at 60/40. Against Auburn I would have said 25/75. We weren't going much further.

We didn't have an answer for their big's rebounding against our philosophy of rebounding "bad shot" passes at the basket. That should have been predictable against a team with multiple 7 footers. When we got behind, we lost the feel of the game. I still say WT hasn't been most of the season.

I have loved watching Buzz's teams downhill driving/rebounding teams. We need more practice focus on shooting (FG and FT), but practice time is limited. So if you are elite at the first, you will be limited on the second. We also need to focus on recruiting.

I'm ready for a coach with a more balanced coach. But in today's world, he needs access to a lot more NIL $$$. I agree 32/16 is the ceiling for Buzz's teams. It is what it is.

Guys.....its all about Atlanta. Coach Elko has got to get the football program to Atlanta to keep the natives from getting restless.

12 years ago Texas A&M bragged about leaving the BIGXII for the SEC.
This move is only successful if it ends in SEC titles or National Titles.

Even if you lose in the SEC Championship game.....you are still competing on National Television under the bright lights of Atlanta.

Atlanta is the unofficial capitol of the Deep South and the SEC championship game is a cultural event that brings college football fans from all over the South East United States to Atlanta.

Atlanta has become the center of the college football universe now that Texas, OU and A&M are in the SEC.
Playing in Atlanta gives your school and players nationwide visibility.

Meanwhile....some of the BDF schools like Texas Tech, Houston and TCU have ended up in the National Title Game or Final Four in football and basketball.

These schools have done it because the competition in the BIGXII is not as great as the SEC. After a while it starts to make you wonder if the Super Conference is really worth it?
Is Texas A&M all that rich if every other school it competes against is also rich?

Everything is relative of course.....but if we all have a lot of money.....do I really have a lot of money?

It'll last until all the keyboard coaches and internet a.d.'s get tired and their moms tell them to go go bed. Then they will move to the baseball forum.
