Dudes on here post about NIL like they know. If so, tell us what Arkansas is paying and what we are paying.

I mean it was the measure for that point. If you want to change what we're measuring and only care about postseason results or seeds, that's a different conversation. But to say "we're always going to be mid-level SEC with Buzz" is just objectively false.

I only care about post season results. The 15-3 was fun while it lasted but that wasn't very long.

Buzz has 4 sweet 16s and 1 elite 8.

It seems like to me Elite 8 is currently his ceiling. Since, ya know, he's done it before.

The "done it before" argument is tiresome. Especially in NCAA basketball since everything can turn on a matchup and a hot team. In just one example, Paul Westhead had decent success in the late '80s with Loyola Marymount -- 3 NCAA appearances, 4 wins, including a E8. After a short stint in the NBA, he won only a third of his games at George Mason, and then did about the same as the Oregon women's coach. The fact that he did it before -- hell, the fact that he even MADE the tournament -- had no effect on his later college coaching stops.

He isn't the only example.

The year Marquette went to the E8, they won their first and second round games by a combined 3 points.

While that year was an outlier, it doesn't mean Buzz is a Westhead (although one can make an argument about the respective stuborness of both). He isn't. He's clearly a first or possibly second round guy with the right seed (1-4). But I think the S16 with possibly one more E8 in him IF everything falls right is about the best we're going to get. And I think we get that twice a decade at most.

How long would ANY coach that consistently won 28+ regular season games and either 0 or 1 NCAA tournament games last at the following programs:

-- Florida
-- Alabama
-- Auburn
-- Kentucky
-- t.u.
-- Duke
-- UNC
-- UConn

and many others.

There's one and only one measure: post-season results. The idea that it is a "different" conversation is what is objectively false.

I'm terrified that you're a lawyer if you can't follow this.

- The guy said "we're always going to be mid-level SEC with Buzz."
- I pointed out that's factually incorrect based on recent results.
- Someone else points that team didn't go far in the postseason
- I say judging a team just based on the postseason is a different conversation than SEC results
- You then say it's not a different conversation because "there's one and only measure: postseason results"

That's not what the post I was replying to was talking about though. So yes, it is a different conversation. If you want to only care about postseason results, then fine, but that's not what the first guy was talking about.

buzz's immediate departure was obviously the easiest path for this forecast to be proven true. I think early departures are part of his algorithm to avoid a firing. if this wasn't a place where a guy with his background.would want to make a permanent home, I doubt there is such a place. I believe the public airing of the carter social media stuff was him paving his way out on a self-perceived "high road".
