We did beat them. Go check the score.

We were without our program's all time point leader for two winnable losses. Had he played and we won, we would have been a 3 seed at worst with a much easier draw than Michigan in round 2.

But he was injured. Something every team has to deal with. We beat Tech mostly in front of their crowd. Facts are pesky sometimes, but they are facts.

How did they prove it? They played in a far worse league allowing them to pad their resume and get a higher seed, got to play 11 seed Drake in the second round while we faced Big 10 tourney winner 5 seed Michigan, and just barely beat Arkansas, a team we absolutely handled.

They got a favorable draw and took advantage. But there's nothing that clearly shows them as better than us. And head to head in a mostly favorable arena for them says they aren't.

We'd still be playing too had we gotten Drake and Arkansas or Tech.

And this nonsense about Big 12 (whoa.. scary tough league this year) POY making a huge difference. We had to go small in our game against them which is why Payne only had 14m of playing time. He also had not yet emerged as the player he turned into. I wouldn't trade their B12 POY for Payne.

You have no evidence they would beat us other than negativity against us.

It's an argument because until they beat us we have scoreboard and I don't give any moral victories to Tech, ever.

We have to hang our hat somewhere. But man would it have been nice to have their path to an elite 8.

I'd disagree, not having success right now does not mean we aren't a football school. We give football top 10 resources, fan support is top 3 list goes on. Kind of like Virginia tech, they suck right now, but they are a football school

Tech has beaten a 14, 11 and 10 Seed. We lost to a 5 Seed. I'm happy for them, but I dare say we would have made the Elite 8 had we played the same teams. Until the Elite 8, it's a lot about who you draw.

You can only beat the teams in front of you....and the point of getting a high seed is so that you can play the lowest ranked teams in the Big Dance.

Texas Tech is playing for a spot in the Final Four. No one expected them to beat Gonzaga back in the 2019 Elite 8......It wouldn't surprise me at all to see them beat Florida tonight.
