Its actually sad to see so many people want to hire a guy that beats up women. I mean if he had recruiting violations, paid players, or had a drug problem that's forgivable... but assault. Come on...
Someone else also made a good point. If you hire Beard and he does well, tu will come calling for him and he'll go back to his alma mater.
+1
There's enough good coaches out there that we don't need to hire a guy who tries to choke out women. I'm embarrassed for the people who want that POS. I was way high up on the list of the anti-Buzz crowd, but I'd take him back in a heartbeat over Beard.
And I respect that opinion. I wasn't anti-Buzz, although I had a feeling he was leaving. We have to partition winning and this thought of being nice guy.
College sports is filthy. You want to keep getting rolled by tu, Bama, etc. because of an internal compass aimed at a guy we literally have no personal relationship with? I held my nose and voted for Donald Trump three times. I can hold my nose again if Beard is indeed the guy.
Again, there's enough good ones out there that we don't need someone like him. I'd rather have .500 teams that don't make the tournament than hire Beard.
Without the true facts of the situation….all of them, plus context….you really can't take a rock solid stance either way.
The rest is just speculation.
The sensitivity of it won't be lost on our brass.
And if we actually hire him, that would mean we vetted the situation and came away with information that pacified the decision makers.
For me, that'll be good enough to get on board with it.
