Really interesting video to watch, especially for those that want to see what we are getting.

What's wild is that he's not only the opposite of Buzz in style but even in the details. Everyone says he's a perfectionist on the small things on offense.

Are we sure we can't get Wade another year?

Not nearly enough dribbling into double teams in the lane.

I love the Princeton principles in the offense. Also, I like that we won't bury our wings in the corners. I used to be a fan but when I started coaching a motion where the wings are in the true wing I realized how bad the driving angles were in offenses where the wings start in the corners.

Samford offense was 13th this year.
A&M was 150th.
I'm good with this hire.

wow......motion movement passing screens lay ups and 3 balls!
Where is the 1 on 5 with 4 standing and watching?

Having the wings in the corners is only valuable if they're good shooters and bad dribblers because it flattens the defense and you're not really giving anything up.

If you have wings that can put the ball on the floor at all then yeah you gotta bring em up.

We're #293 in assist rate, they were #77. I like that maybe more than anything else.

What I'm most curious about is the 1/2 court defensive philosophy we will employ. I absolutely believe that the press can work at the SEC level, but we aren't going to turn teams over in the full court every possession. What are our philosophies when we have to play a 1/2 court game. I'm looking that up once I get my phone charged a bit lol

Oh wow...yeah, that's something. Damn near erotic compared to buzz ball.

This is the type of offense that I wished we would have run this year. A controlled chaos type system with crisp passes, good movement and a counter for how each action is guarded. This is modern basketball and A&M just entered into it.

Seeing this much movement from players on offense is shocking after watching Buzz for 6 yrs

I assume his big focus is going to be guarding the arc and not fouling.

When I find it I will post! But that tends to be the philosophy of most pressing teams. I press and then we fall back into a no middle man in the half court.

Will be interested if the defensive analytics improve here because the athletes will be better and can cover more ground. The court looks huge in their videos lol.

I just like that there's videos to be honest.

If we have an open practice I'll buy a Bucky Ball tshirt.

Thanks for posting. Don't know what I was expecting, but this was far away from the image of a gimmick offense that the term "Bucky Ball" was putting in my head. Love the passing & motion in that offense!

But I have to see more offensive rebounding before I can truly believe... j/k

Yeah I'm gonna buy that when I get a chance. I like how he talks about being in front of the ball. A very simple, yet important concept. Here's the thing, the dude can flat out coach. And he seems to be a very relational guy with not just his players but the community as a whole. He will definitely be one to eat in town and go to church in town.

Absolutely! I hate the term gimmick offense. To me a "gimmick" offense is something like Flex, don't get me wrong I love Flex action, but Flex is very robotic and easy to guard. This offense puts a ton of stress on the defense by putting them in rotations via the pass or dribble. It's very similar to Bellarmine's offense if you've seen that one.

A "gimmick" to me is something that's not sustainable long term. Like that year Cal was doing line changes and had two groups of players playing different styles.

Without getting too far into it, knowing what i know of Birmingham and as a former resident of BCS (off and on from '93 to '17) i think he'll have very little adjustment to Aggieland.

Y'all locals better make sure you get him comfy. Alabamians are way more into pork BBQ and they love white BBQ sauce, especially on bird meat. Someone should figure out a good alabama white sauce for him.

The turnovers and shooting percentage are better than that garbage weve seen for years.

Premium is calling him a nobody… We've got the framework to be an exciting team, just need to flesh it out. I can see high school kids in the state buying into this style as well as transfers.

Interested in your take because another thing I like is that it looks to me like you don't really need elite all around players, you just need the right ones with the right skills. Kind of a "sum is better than the parts" deal but like a bizarro version of how Buzz did it.

Obviously the better the players the better it works but it looks like a system we can recruit to.

That's the beauty of a true motion based offense, which this is, you just need guys that understand spacing, can handle a little bit, and ultimately knock down shots. You don't need premo athletes, but like you said the better the athletes the more beautiful this offense will look. However, it will always have a beauty to it because it will never get stagnate. I **** you not I watched a game, I honestly can't remember which one, where Manny touched the ball 5 possessions in a row and we either turned it over or took a bad shot. The thing that pissed me off wasn't necessarily the player but that the ball never went back to the other side of the floor nor were players playing off of it they were just standing like 7th graders.

Yeah watching Manny these last four years made me want to give up watching basketball. I don't blame anyone for standing around because he wasn't going to pass it anyway.
