I was really excited for Buzz this year and he flamed out probably after already checking out. So I think this was as good as it would ever get with him and the lows will be very low so I'm excited to try something new.

Buzz's tenure was done even if he had to come back, but picking between him and Bucky is a very easy choice. No one in college basketball with any sense would pick Bucky over buzz today

I know nothing about the new coach but I do know Buzz ball was BORING and predictable

Lol. They would take Bucky if they had watched A&M and Buzz the last 6 years, because Buzz sucks at recruiting and offense. Recruiting is persuasion and tough, but coaching isn't rocket science, unless you ask Buzz who admittedly never knew as much as he should have.

Way more excited than had Buzz stayed, so much more that I'll have season tickets for next season.

I've been wanting a smaller school younger and hungrier up and comer, plus get the NIL amped up. First step is complete, now we have to bring the money.

I said he played small ball with this hire. We hired Samford's coach.

It was six years man and it didn't pay off in the way we all wanted it to. I'm excited to try something else.

I'm optimistic. We're replacing a coach that won 2 tournament games in 6 years. I think that was his ceiling and quite a few coaches could do that. I would like us to become a program that fires a coach for 2 tournament wins in 6 years.

It's basketball five only play at a time. I feel we as a fan base have been programmed by the old coaches with excuses for why they will not win immediately. It's of my opinion from everything I've read about and heard about this man he is the man for this job and can guarantee he isn't going to say any of that crap about being bare etc. it's seems this man is coming to show everyone that it can and will be done year one. If he brings his core guys from that team that won' 22 games last year plus sprinkle in other talent. The other portal guys are kids who wouldn't have went to Samford but will definitely come to the SEC and A&M I think we are about to have something very special. I for one cannot wait.

Buzz Ball had played its course. Our teams were going to be predictively tough on defense with a lot of hustle, but terrible on offense with way below average shooting. He seemed to be a good character-builder, but his 'team bus / us against everybody' approach puts him at odds with even his own fan base. I liked Buzz a lot early on, but had seen enough and I'm happy we're moving on with an exciting, fresh approach. If we can get talented players, this will be fun basketball.

I'm sorry but I'm my time with A&M we've truly only had two basketball coaches.

Shelby Metcalf 1980 was so close that team was special
Billy Gillespie what he did in one year has led to this.
Now I believe we have the third coach in that group with Bucky McMillan.

I'm not sure how I feel yet, other than hopeful. I think the style could be more exciting to watch than what we've seen over the last several coaches.

Yeah

I think buzz knows his ceiling and realizes that everyone else does too after he's there 5 years

I like the Bucky hire in that it's a completely different style than buzz and it's a world of untapped potential.

Much better approach than getting a retread like moser, underwood etc…that will. Probably get you in the tourney but not fo much more than that

We could have let the players coach themselves and I would be more excited than keeping Buzz(less). We would have been more exciting to watch and probably basically the same results.
