So, Solo and Payne transferred to Maryland. Do they finish up the semester at A&M then move on or do they up and go right away? If they go right away, what happens to their classes and transcript? Or does that even matter in today's college athletics?

They probably are taking mostly online courses. I imagine they are still at A&M though until end of semester.
Student athlete is the biggest oxymoron since jumbo shrimp. Or military intelligence. Or vegan bacon. Or deafening silence.
But I imagine they can no longer access the A&M "tutors" who "support" them through their classes. I'm guessing Maryland will be responsible for providing NCAA-approved (HA!!!) academic assistance from this point forward.

Status of the other players on the 24-25 team? I refer to those with eligibility remaining..
college sports or whatever organization ends up running this needs to just declare themselves a professional league, determine eligibility based on age only so its like a U24 or U23 league or whatever. Then to be member school you just agree that whatever players you sign and play will be enrolled in your school and thats it. Let the players and schools resolve the transfer portal BS with contracts. Want to go to Texas? You have to sign a 5 year agreement or take a hike. Or we only offer one year deals or whatever. Make Texas A&M have to pay Stephen F Austin $200k to get a player out of their contract before signing them as a "transfer"

I look forward to it actually. Can you imagine a scab league year where all teams are walkons? It would be the most entertaining season of all time and actually might shake the foundations of the sport.
