Robert Wright III with the buzzer beater. BYU is going to be tough to beat in March. He's the transfer PG from Baylor who BYU funded with NIL money.

You say that like every roster isn't NIL funded

Yeah, but BYU took it to another level, similar to TTech in football..

For the record I don't think tech even has a top 10 funded roster in football.

If Tech and BYU aren't among the top spenders in NIL, then they're doing a hell of a good job finding the right players to fill out their tosters.

It is interesting to me how much college coaching staffs are going to have to adapt to succeed in the present NIL free agency era.

From roster building, to roster retention, to having to coach, motivate, and develop young professionals with some substantial money in their pocket, with agent representation, who may feel like they already 'made it'….it must be a very different coaching world than it was 5 years ago, and light years different from 10 years ago.

I was thinking about Bucky, who not only has never coached at this level but is presumably now coaching some players getting paid more money to play than he has ever coached before, and how well he'll roll or not with those different challenges in a Year 1.

Or watching Pope over at Kentucky with a reported $20+ million roster - where the sum thus far has been significantly less than expectation given the parts - and the local UK media and fan talk right now that there seems to be an 'effort problem' from some of those players getting paid millions.

LSU football famously imploded this season despite a very expensive NIL roster. It one thing to have adequate money to compete, and that is certainly important. But still incredibly challenging and complicated to get a good return out of an investment in terms of a successful sports season.

Wow is Michigan rolling. And they don't have a game where they're favored by less than 13 (on Torvik) until Jan 30th

Somebody good may get them on a bad day but i don't see them losing any games . They have no holes.

I watched Florida -UConn last night . Both really good teams especially on the interior . I watched Florida earlier in the season and their guard play was not remotely as good as last yr but they are developing there . Definitely improving . They are only 5-4 but have played a meat grinder schedule to date . SEC play may be a drop off in their schedule .

The TCU loss is not great but at Arizona, Duke and essentially a home game for Connecticut are tough places to play.

Iowa State v Iowa is pretty good.

I normally don't tune in too much this early in the year but 1. Im home with the flu so 2 I watched BYU Clemson which got my season jump started and 3 I read ISU smoked Purdue at their place so I want to watch them.

Both of these teams look legit.

Agree Iowa and Iowa St are both very good teams . McCollum has had an immediate impact at Iowa which is not surprising. BYU is also real imo.

Still don't see much chance any of them beating Michigan. Michigan to me looks like a buzz saw rolling thru everything in their path. Stuff happens tho, whole team get the flu at the same time or several injuries to key players could come into play.

Michigan and Maryland tomorrow, is this a classic Buzz surprisingly close game or a year one Buzz lose by 60 game?

Watching Texas vs UConn. Texas is better than I expected . Miller has them well coached and they have guys. They will lose this game but they are not going to be anything approaching a probable win for us imo in either venue .

I sure wish that wasn't the case but I have to be honest

Not sure what to think of them yet. They've had some rough performances so far but their schedule is pretty great.

Vokietotus. We don't have an answer for him. Throw Feddy and Vinson and Clemence at him and see how the fouls fall.

I'm not saying we have no chance but we better be canning threes at a high clip and turning them over as well.

I dunno about losing by 60 but 40 wouldn't surprise me at all . Maryland is going to get creamed.

Best case in Bedlam is probably a close OU win.

I generally hate neutral site games but OU/OSU in OKC is one I could actually see working

I guess it's not Bedlam if nobody is getting ejected but that was really dumb

Wait you can get THREE flagrant ones before you're ejected? That seems nuts.
