Reality: Buzz wasn't going to engage with and beg donors for more money for players. Did that probably cost us some recruits? Probably. But Buzz also wanted specific types of players too, and we had some good players signed for next year. Players like Payne, Phelps, Coleman, Radford, etc weren't cheap in the portal and keeping players like Taylor definitely wasn't cheap. He also was probably overly loyal to guys already on the roster and gave them a bigger piece of the pie than their play warranted, but that's who Buzz is, he's going to take care of his guys.
But people on here make it seem like we were recruiting players like hiring day workers at the home depot parking lot. Buzz would roll up to open gyms and slap the side of his truck and see who jumped in.
