One of the things we talked about in the offseason is we can't bury ourselves so deep a hole that it's impossible to dig out of when we do start to figure things out. This is the problem Buzz's teams had in 2020, 2022 and 2023 though we got so hot in 2023 that we did eventually dig out of it.

Neither of our losses so far are all that devastating, but losing to a truly bad team at home would be and Montana is probably the best of the bad teams we play. They've already won a game at UNLV.

We need to get back on the horse and not let two bad games derail the whole season and bury these next three teams. Do that and then figure out a way to win 2/3 of the FSU/Pitt/SMU tour and you're in pretty good shape. Even just winning one of those three keeps you in the fight as long as you don't get blown out in the others.

We need to stop throwing alley oops.

Not even just alley oops, all lobs in general. I think a few of those in the last game weren't even supposed to be dunked and we badly missed them.

I think we win that game if we just faceguard 99, make layups and hit our FTs at the same clip we were doing so for 75% of the game. Total mental collapse.

I kinda think subbing offense/defense with McDermott and Clemence for the entire second half was a little too cute. And it resulted in a situation where McDermott was shooting some critical free throws.

I was encouraged by how much better we looked on defense for most of the game though. Got sloppy late and they also made some tough shots.

If we insist on digging ourselves into a hole, we should at least go get some pointers from the foosball team on how to dig ourselves out of it lol
Give me the guy who shoots for excellence and fails over the guy who shoots for mediocrity and succeeds.

Please, 27 points in 20 minutes is child's play compared to 11 points in like 80 seconds or whatever it was.

Yep. Chance of loss was only like 97.4% on Saturday. Nothing.

He looked Shakesque on those free throws for sure . I thought him being Houston Metro POTY as a senior would have come with a bit more offensive skill but perhaps not…. Or maybe it was just a small sample size but now feels like we're beginning to see why he wasn't more heavily recruited .

Funny you mention this. I saw Tonny (Trocha Morelos) on Saturday at Kyle and we talked about that game as well as the football comeback.

He's recently retired from playing professionally and is hoping to do something with the program although nothing's been decided.

Super nice guy as always.

And I think it was more like 11 points in 40 seconds.

I had to look it up just to remind myself. It was even more incredible than I remembered.

Admon hits the layup to cut it to 10 at 34 seconds, so we came back from a 12 point deficit with 35 seconds left.

Very thankful to have been at both of those incredible comebacks (although Tonny may have been the only person to have been at both and played in one of them).

I reminded my brother about this game at least 8 times Saturday night.
