Agree. We have holes but can score. Will be interesting to see if we just have to out shoot teams or we play better defense.

Mgbako looks like he may be able to address some of that potential issue. That and just playing together more. Not saying it's not a legitimate concern but I can see a path to improvement.

I'm with you. We're going to step up in competition and I guess we'll see how that goes.

A pure shooter is pretty constant, however, better teams will stop our dribble penetration. When we have off shooting nights it could get lopsided with our lack of defense.

Even if we score I have a hard time seeing this team win more than 4-5 conference games with how atrocious the defense is. It's like awful awful

I agree we have an ability to score, but we don't seem to know how to play defense. Especially after we make a basket. Was frustrating to watch how many times a pass would be thrown to the other end of the court after a basket to a lone player at the other end of the court. I get it happens once because of a breakdown, but we allowed it to happen multiple times and never corrected for it. It is fun that we are putting up 100+ points, but we are not going to be able to just rely on shooting for every game.

The breakdowns don't worry me as much as how often we just get blown by and then can't recover.

But we knew this was likely coming into the year. The question is can we score enough to make up for it.

Offense has been looking better these last few games, more good timing plays like lobs and passing to open spaces on the court.

We have to have one of these, two would be good.

SMU next plays Miss St (this Friday) and Vandy in the week before they play us.
