Interesting stats Method. That being said, they have played an extremely easy schedule except for Florida and they lost that game by 2 points. They have a lot of seniors and they start 5 seniors, so they bring that to the table. I have no idea on the line, but I do think that FSU will be favored.

I'm down here now enjoying the Fort Myers Tipoff classic and will watch UNC vs Michigan St Thursday and then drive to Tampa to watch our Aggies. I don't expect a lot of Aggie fans with the football game being played shortly after this game.

This should be a good challenge for us. The Aggies played well in this venue the last time we were here for the SEC tournament. Not that it has any bearing on this game. The last time we were here, we got snubbed on the NCAA bid and our coach pissed off the selection committee.

Anyway, here's to great basketball in SWFL this week.

I feel a lot better about this one than I did Oklahoma State for sure. I was pretty sure we were going to get absolutely wiped in that game. I think we'll at least battle.

They also played Bama in one of those preseason scrimmages and almost beat them. Both teams scored well over 100 points. We need to not wilt in this game early and bring the energy. Not sure how good there D is but team that imposes their fast paced style the most will win.

Seems like it doesn't it? Just too many moving pieces and while I see some improvement on offense we still look disjointed on both ends of the floor. Pop being not that great has made it tough.

I think yall are overvaluing their game against Florida which was a terrible game for Florida. They shot 19% from 3. They're probably pretty good on defense but nobody is that good.

Not saying we definitely win but if we get killed by Florida State then I'm going to start to get actually worried.

I think Stillwater was partially a reality check and partially a deer caught by headlights moment. I would like to think the FSU game could be more competitive but when you delete adversity is when the choice making starts on personal and team leadership: how does each team member contribute "stiff upper lip" and create moments of communication and encouragement to rebuff the adversity.

Of course the coaching staff also is part of the team in the sense of contributing changes and courage, but the team in the floor has to choose to keep working.

MM said all we have to know to anticipate a troublesome match. But stats aren't always either destiny or fate.

I'm not sure we're quite ready for this one. I wish we had another week and couple more tuneups with both Pop and Mac playing. It'll be a good sign if we can pull this one off or even make it a last possession game.

We've yet to play a game with our big three all playing and we've had very little practice time with the full group.

Want to be optimistic but I think we lose by double digits tomorrow. For a myriad of reasons we just aren't a good basketball team right now

To your point about Florida, I just watched TCU beat Florida . Florida's guard play is nothing like it was last year at this point . A close loss to Florida might not mean what I thought it meant.

Well I'm glad that statement was correct. Even my best guess didn't predict 36 pt win

I'm liking our "scratch" a lot better after FSU. And we didn't have Rylen Griffin available. It seems like every player can contribute when on the floor. Doesn't appear that there is a whole lot of drop off when we sub in. I'll keep holding my breath that this is the norm rather than an aberration.

Well we did get spanked by OSU and gave up like a 25-2 run to UCF to lose then win by nearly 40. It's been a roller coaster.

This is going to be a wild season for the casual fans. People want to know if their team is good or not and I think we're going to fall somewhere in the middle because of how three-point dependent we are. We're going to have weeks where we get absolutely roasted in the midweek and then beat a ranked team on the weekend by 15 points or something.

Hopefully with Griffen back and Isaacs and Mgbako continuing to round into form we can develop a more consistent ability to attack the basket and get some buckets when our shots aren't falling. Right now Hill is about the only player we have that can do that at all and without any help he's having to take some tough shots down there.

Even Bucky sez we are going to be a high variance team which I think is obvious to everyone that has watched most of the games to date . Hopefully we get 3 positive swings for every negative swing as the team develops which has kinda what it's been so far . I'd argue Montana wasn't a positive swing but we won anyway.
