Historic choke. Pop Isaacs doesn't deserve to get as much run as he does.

I get what you're saying, but we're also not even in that game if it isn't for him

Pops made the big 3, but take that out he was 2-9, 1-5 from 3, 3 turnovers including the inexcusable turnover with 40 seconds left when all we had to do was run the clock and make free throws.

We could still have won the game after the bad turnover, and everything went bad from that point so it wasn't all his fault, so that's not all on him. But the turnover absolutely turned the game and happened because he made a lazy, inexcusable pass.

Also, the last possession was Isaacs dribbling the ball for 25 seconds and then turning the ball over. Bucky had a timeout left, he should have used it and set up a play. That's on Bucky, his mistake was entrusting the last possession to Pops.

3/4-1 mil just doesn't buy what it used to

We're not making the postseason at all. We're a bunch of great individuals but not a team. We haven't beaten a team worth a damn all year (Pitt and FSU aren't good). We're going to be humiliated in SEC play. We also need to remember that this is a full line change in staff and players, so it's going to take time. Prepare for lots of lumps but hope we can get into the rhythm of this new structure.

That's gonna really impact us making the tournament. Kind of needed this one.

Tournament? Surely you mean NIT? This team is going to get murdered in SEC play.

I tend to agree but we may actually do decent in the league, but the league isn't looking too strong right now.

Our comeback in late regulation was truly epic, a great job drawing fouls, making shots, and playing hard. What a run despite shooting poorly most of the game, it really looked great and a like a big team building win. Up 4, had the ball to start our possession with around :40 seconds left. Not a lock situation but immediately turning ball over for SMU easy layup was about as bad it is could get.

Geez, I don't understand what you guys expect out of this year from what we were looking at from April to now. Way above my expectations at that point. One player back this year and new coach. Perspective maybe?

It's not early 2000s anymore though and we have experienced players. It isn't like he came in and has a bunch of new freshmen. We have a single freshman.

If we have no money for basketball and cant make anything work then at least let us know... or make a huge effort to raise NIL funds before dropping our basketball program

And what is your perspective? It's ok to look like we will be lucky to avoid last in the SEC?

My perspective is basically the same as its been in years where people wanted to fire Buzz or complain about Turgeon…its kind of acceptable for A&M to have a team that "only" in the top 40 to 50 sometimes. We may do worse this year, we'll see when that actually happens. The trend is actually upward.

Bit of an overreaction imo. SMU is 9-1. They are a good team and we took them to OT and as many have said we had a shot to win the game in regulation.

Yeah, but 4 turn-overs in 40 seconds is a little rough though. Looked like Northern Iowa out there.

Yeah, not a bad loss by any means, just one that feels at this point pretty important to our resume.

That was damned ugly . You'd expect they'd be used to pressure from practice.

Barring some sort of Matrix-like singularity moment of our team chemistry, I've already stopping thinking of any sort of tournament hopes. This team just ain't it. And it looks like their SEC ain't gonna have many bids available this year.

I turned in late. Where's the Spaniard?

Not good enough on defense or off the ball on offense vs a team like this.

We had them beat and fumbled it away.

8/34 from 3. 22/34 from the line. We had no business being in this game.

We were up 4 with 30 second left and the ball and one player lazily gave them the ball. You can say whatever you want. We were in easy position to win and fumbled in most egregious way possible.

What kind of engineer are you?

Not sure what inane point you are trying to make. We had the ball up 4 with 30 seconds left and 20 second of clock to burn. And literally gave them the ball. Had them beat and one player gave them the game. It's not a hard concept to understand.

And I obviously understand it. And of course those were bad mistakes. But since you can only understand extremely literal comments, I will spell it out for you. We made a great effort getting back into the game, even though we were really out of it. Once getting back in the game, we should have gone ahead and closed it out, as I mentioned in an earlier comment about having a chance to steal one. You can go back and read it. Now what kind of engineer are you?

How were we out of it when we were up by 4 with 30 seconds left?

You are right...Hill turnover was just as egregious and then he shizs the bed in OT. Plenty of crappy end of game play to go around.

For sure.

But if Pop doesn't turn it over, we run at least 15 more seconds of clock and either make a shot to put the game at a 6 point lead, get fouled, or they get the ball with 10-15 seconds left needing to score 4.

That one boneheaded turnover decided the game.

Was Dominguez injured or something? I didn't follow the game.
He couldn't get open. They were hounding him, and he couldn't get space to get 3's off. He knocked down an early 2 jumper, air-balled a 3 he tried forcing to get off quick, and then was showered with "airball" by SMU fans the rest of the game as he couldn't create separation. Then he barely got to play in the 2nd half at all.

It is early in the year, only a third of the way through the season, but why do you think the SEC isn't going to get many bids this year? It would be almost impossible to expect them to get to 14 teams again because that was a historical happening, but to say they wont get many is a stretch in the opposite direction in my opinion at this point. We just won the ACC challenge and a quick glance at overall standings looks like the Big 12 might be the only other conference with more teams with a .600 winning percentage or better.
