Game Preview
If you're not into volleyball and if you're into saving some bucks around the holidays, head on over to Reed Arena tomorrow at 3pm as the Texas A&m Aggie Basketball Team will host East Texas A&M in its penultimate non conference game. The Aggie nonconference slate concludes against Prairie View A&M next Monday on the 29th.
Last time out, the Aggies took down the mighty Dolphins of Jacksonville 112-75 behind strong performances from Rylan Griffen and Jamie Vinson. Only two Aggies saw more than 20 minutes as 6 scored in double figures. After a jam packed non conference and a 3 game road trip against ACC teams, the Aggie schedule really dialed back with only its second game in 2 weeks tomorrow.
ETAMU is in the midst of conference play in the Southland, they split their results with a 34 point loss to McNeese and a one point win over Southeastern Louisiana. They have 5 other wins over
Arlington Baptist, Dallas Christian, Farleigh Dickinson, Army, and Central Arkansas. They did travel to Storrs to take on UConn and walked away with a respectable 24 point loss.
They've had 9 players start a game and only 5 players average more than 20 minutes a game, with only one over 25, Gianni Hunt. Their leading scorer and rebounder is 6'8 forward Ronnie Harrison. He averages 13.7 points and 5.1 rebounds. As a team they aren't very strong at rebounding, but they will try to play fast as well.
It's another tune up game for the Aggies as they get closer and closer to conference play. Should hopefully be another game over 100. Let's hope for an injury free smooth game and that sometime during the match we find out the Aggies won the national championship in volleyball! BTHO ETAMU!! P.S. Welcome football fans tuning into basketball for the first time!
