What guys have established themselves as our go to "Dominique Kirk" lock down defenders?

Tai Reon Jospeph had 34 points against LSU according to Olin's article.

This will be interesting who we put on him in tomorrow's game.

We don't have anyone even in the ballpark of being a lock down defender.

Against a team like Prairie View though it won't really matter. Who cares if he scores 50 if we're ahead by 30, defend everyone else and control the game.

We don't have any lockdown guys, but I think it's clear Hill and Holloway are our best defenders

I think Hill might be our only player that I'd say is a legitimately good defender. Agee maybe with the right matchups. Lane if it's a smaller guard. I guess Holloway but his offense is so erratic it's been hard for him to stay on the floor for long stretches.

No question though that we're going for a "sum is better than the parts" thing on defense though.

We didn't have any lockdown defenders last season other than Solomon Oppenheimer who still picked up too many fouls to play for too long.

We don't have a true shutdown defender like Solo was for us the past couple seasons. It's why I wish he had stayed because he would've helped us tremendously on that side and given us a bit of breathing room.

I agree with others in thinking Hill and Holloway are our best defenders, but we don't have a guy that can guard any of the 1-3 guards on the floor like Solo could. It's all about matchups with this squad on defense.

I'd argue Obaseki was a good defender.

This team … I dunno… we'll see what they come up with tonight but I do think it'll perhaps be a point of emphasis for Bucky given his concerns about giving up 77 pts to ET. FYI, ET averages 77 ppg. Prairie View averages 84 ppg so i expect a high scoring game tonight

Given Bucky's past comments about "you have to win by so much" has me thinking he wants to beat them down by a lot more than the 14 LSU beat them by .

Fair enough. Many was a good defender but he'd get very lost at times.

Lost his guy on the perimeter often... just my memory, so someone can probably prove me wrong with real stats. Of course, it could have been him playing his assignment within the defense as well. IDK.

Manny was a good defender but he wasn't a "put him on a guy and forget about him" type defender.

But yes it's hard to separate the players from the system sometimes. Like our system probably made Garcia look like a better individual defender than he really is but probably made Dennis look like a worse one at times.
