Some stats after 15 games:

As a team, tied for 26th in country making 38% of our attempts.

Tied for 6th in country in made 3's per game, with 11.5. Alabama is 2nd in country and makes 13.2 per game.

Dominguez is 9th in the country in percent made, at 47.3%. He's just 57th in 3 point attempts per game but 11th in FGs made per game.

A bit surprisingly, Dibba is making 58% of his 3's and Holloway 46%. But they've only attempted 12 and 13, respectively, 3's on the year so very low volume so far.

Dominguez has attempted 112 3's this year, by far the team leader. Pop with 69, Rylan with 58, and Lane with 45 attempts are the next 3. Surprisingly, with the games missed, Mgbako is 5th in 3 attempts with 35.

As a team they are shooting 3's at a 38% clip on 453 attempts.

Last year's team, in 34 games, was lead in percentage made by Wilcher at 41% on 106 attempts. Taylor put up 223 attempts and Phelps 135. As a team they shot 31% from beyond the arc on 721 total shots.

You can tell either the coaches have been working with Dominguez on being more aggressive or he's growing more confident in the college basketball game.

He's finally starting to let it fly even if he's not absolutely wide open and he's extending his range out a bit.

Dominguez seemed to be a lot more relaxed shooting in the 2nd half. First half, he seemed to be rushing the shot at least that's the way it looked on tv.

That went for the entire team as we scored 55 points in the second half.

A&M now shooting 36.98% from beyond the arc, 39th in country.

We attempt 30.5 3's a game, that's good for 16th most in country.

We make 11.3 a game, that's 8th most in country.

Ruben is 11th at 45.59% made.

Offensive rebounds are most certainly down but that's because this team doesn't shoot a brick every other shot lol buzz's team had to get offensive boards. It was either get a rebound or get drilled in the head by a ricocheting basketball

Not saying this is you because you're making a joke, but I do think in general people really don't appreciate how good we were at offensive rebounding.

I've seen a lot of people say we were only good at it because we missed so many shots, and to a certain degree that's part of it because you do get used to where your own shooters are likely to miss, but over the last three years we were #1, #1 and #5 in offensive rebounding percentage. (So, obviously, the percentage has nothing to do with overall volume of missed shots.) It was truly impressive. This year Maryland is only #91 currently.

Some things really annoyed me about Buzz but he did an excellent job at getting guys to buy in to doing the dirty work. Loose balls, boards, hustle plays etc

Same, I appreciate the shooting percentage joke but I feel myself pushing back at the seeming hatred of recent teams and discounting their success. I know Buzz rubbed the fanbase the wrong way, and that built over time, but we had successful teams. We had some very good regular seasons, some among our best ever, but Buzz moved on, because that's just what he does, and A&M I think was OK with that since we were not getting the post season success we strive for. Based on the observable results, you can argue his approach and style led to a high win percentage in the regular season but was not tailored to what seems to work best to advance in March Madness. Our post season results under Buzz were not as good as the results he got at Marquette and even at Virginia Tech. My main theory is Buzz's OCD has expanded from just basketball too all kinds of other things over his career, just my imo as to why we didn't get the post season runs we hoped for when he was hired.

But as Bobinator said, that was a taught, drilled, and well executed approach to rebounding - not just snagged balls bouncing their way. It was TEAM rebounding that funneled the rebounds to specific players/roles. And they fought like dawgs to get those boards.

I also liked how together, intense, and scrappy our recent teams were. I respect the players we had in the Buzz era, in fact Andersson was a top 3 all time over my 35 years of following the team.
