Bucky Ball is fun and exciting especially with this team hitting 3's like they do.

Among starters:
Dominguez 47.1%
Rylen 40.6%
Pop 39.7%
Those are our top three.
I love the play of Agee, but he is not a 3 point shooter at 21.2%

Others with less playing time:
Dibba 50%
Zach 40.7%
Holloway 42.9%

Gig 'em and btho vols!

Unreal numbers. I guess I won't do my "get rid of the 3 pt shot" rant since we can shoot them now.

Man, Dibba struggled finishing at the rim yesterday. We left a lot of points out there.

Imagine if we get all of our guys firing at a good clip. We can beat anybody.

If you like fouls at the wrong time in crucial situations then Agee is your guy.

man over the last 30 years we must be one of the worst 3 point shooting teams of all time. it's pretty amazing we have had the success we have when looking at our leader board.

Are you sure that's sorted by percentage and not who made the most and then by percentage? Pretty sure BJ Holmes shot a higher percentage than that.

Edit: just looked it up and BJ was .396

It's probably a huge number of threes needed to make the list if those guys are on it. We've had a lot of players shoot in the high 30's.

Dominguez is an absolute freak though. Hes also become a more well rounded player as the seasons gone on. He's never gonna impress anyone with his defense but it's been good enough that he can stay on the floor for 25-30 mins a game.

Here's our own record book. With a min of only 100 attempts Dominguez is actually currently #1 by 5 percentage points.

Unless he goes cold which I don't think is happening he'll blow that record out of the water.

Imagine Josh Carter paired with Ruben in Bucky ball. My gosh

I kinda think Griffen and Josh Carter are similar players. Three point line was also like 2.5 feet closer in back then.

Carter flashed and attacked the basket more but Griffen's been doing more of that lately.

Man I don't remember Carter attacking the rim more than single digit times, and that was all his senior year. I feel like he was glued to the line his whole career.

Almost 40% of his career FG attempts were two pointers and his junior and senior years he shot over 200 FTs combined.

Thanks. Sheesh I don't remember that at all.

A big chunk of his twos were definitely long twos and midrange shots but yeah, you don't get fouled that much if you're just floating around the perimeter.

He wasn't a great driver but he could flash and slash. He was actually a decent dunk threat.

Dibba? The entire team struggles at finishing close to the basket.

Is this info correct? If yes, then interesting additional piece of info relative to the shooting percentages. Although there could also be data out there showing a move of 2 feet, or around 10% distance increase, really has minimal impact on shooting percentage.

______

The 3-point line came to college basketball in the 1986-87 season, starting at 19 feet, 9 inches. The men's line moved to 20'9" in 2008-09 and then to the current 22'1" in 2019-20

And boy Dominguez looked comfortable pulling up 5 feet behind the line that one time on Saturday.

I just looked it up and the Liga ACB 3 point line is pretty close to the NCAA line.

Quote:

FIBA/ACB Arc: 6.75 meters (22' 1.75").

FIBA/ACB Corners: The arc intersects the sideline parallel lines, making it slightly shorter in the corners, similar to the NBA's setup.

It has a big difference on shooting percentages for a couple of seasons. Like '19-20 and '20-21 were the worst three point shooting seasons in the history of college basketball.

The first jump didn't have quite a big of a drop off because the line only moved a foot and three point rate overall wasn't nearly as high back then as it is now.

surely Ruben is NBA bound with his shooting % coming from Spain and now in college ball. at 6 foot 6, surely. I know he's got a ways to go defensively, but that 3% is insane

Still not sure due to basically being a one trick pony.

The NCAA line is the FIBA line now essentially. There's a tiny bit of variance of a couple of inches along the sidelines because the FIBA court isn't quite as wide. But that was part of the point of moving the line back in '19-'20 is making that easier to standardize.

A classic "what are we doing here" were those couple of seasons where the men's line moved back, but the women's didn't, AND it was still inside of the FIBA line which is inside of the NBA line so you'd see courts with four different three point lines on them.

Hill yes but I think Agee has to keep shooting in certain situations, especially late in the shot clock. He shot 39% from out there last year on a decent sample size. Right now I think he's in his own head and he's hesitating.
