We gotta lock in on this one and then get into the bye date at 6-1 and then get ready to take some big swings. Could be a weird crowd with the weather, need to really push students to bundle up and show up for this one because out of town crowd is probably going to be really light.
South Carolina has been our anti-Auburn. We did beat them last year, but we're 2-7 in our last 9 against SC, and we've lost four in a row at home against these guys despite them only being a tournament team one year of the last eight.
Some notes on the gamecocks:
- Almost as bad as Mississippi State at forcing turnovers
- #7 in the country at three point percentage defense
- They are S-L-O-W
- The shoot the ball well inside the arc, #26 in 2pt% and they shoot 64% at the rim
- They're a little bit like our 2016 team in that they really only have one really big guy that plays a bunch of minutes, but they have a bunch of dudes between 6-5 and 6-9 that give them length defensively
- You see a team that's 11-8, but they've really been in every game except the away Arkansas game and all of their losses are Quad 1 games except Northwestern (+8 from being quad 1) and Virginia Tech (#53 in Torvik but that was a home game.)
