It's the last weekend of January, 6 more weekends until Selection Sunday after this one

Friday, January 30 (projected seeds per Bracket Matrix)

  • Providence at (7) Villanova - 6:00 - FS1
  • (1) Michigan at (2) Michigan State - 7:00 - FOX
  • Dayton at (7) St. Louis - 7:00 - CBSSN
Saturday, January 31

  • (1) Duke at (11) Virginia Tech - 11 AM - ESPN - If this were a Big 12 game I'd be certain Virginia Tech was going to win
  • Cincinnati at (3) Houston - 11 AM - FOX
  • (3) Texas Tech at (8) UCF - 11 AM - ESPN2
  • Pitt at (6) Clemson - 11 AM - ACCN
  • (10) NC State at Wake Forest - ACC Extra
  • (9) Texas A&M vs (8) Georgia - Noon - SECN
  • (11) San Diego St. at (9) Utah State - Noon - CBS (huge bubble game here, especially for SDSU)
  • (4) Virginia at Boston College - 12:30 - CW
  • (1) Arizona at Arizona State - 1 PM - TNT
  • (5) North Carolina at Georgia Tech - 1 PM - ACCN
  • (8) SMU at (6) Louisville - 1 PM - ESPN
  • (11) Ohio State at (9) Wisconsin - 1 PM - FOX - Major conference bubble game
  • (11) Texas at Oklahoma - 1 PM - ESPN2 - Texas might need to go 5 for 5 in a stretch of games that starts with this one
  • Northern Illinois at (11) Miami (OH) - 2:30 PM - ESPN+ - Can Miami of Ohio go the distance?
  • Mississippi State at (Bubble - Out) Missouri - 2:30 PM - SECN - Mizzou hanging on for dear life
  • Baylor at West Virginia - 3 PM - ESPN2 - Keep an eye on West Virginia the next few weeks. I think this is a team that currently isn't in anyone's bracket that could make a jump up the list.
  • Cal at (10) Miami - 3 PM - ACCN - Jai Lucas' squad is better than expected and has a really manageable schedule to close but they can't afford any more dumb losses like last week's to FSU.
  • (4) BYU at (4) Kansas - 3:30 PM - ESPN
  • (Bubble - Out) Indiana at (10) UCLA - 4:00 PM - Peacock - Bracket Matrix is low on Indiana because they beat Purdue since the last update, they'd be in right now, but they still have some hurdles to clear. UCLA is probably good to go unless they lose one of these three straight home games.
  • Ole Miss at (4) Vanderbilt - 5 PM - SECN
  • (7) Kentucky at (5) Arkansas - 5:30 PM - ESPN - Bracket Matrix is currently too high on Kentucky because it hasn't updated since they got murdered the other night by Vandy, Torvik still likes their odds of making the field but they have the toughest remaining schedule in the SEC.
  • Rutgers at (10) USC - 6 PM - Peacock
  • (1) UCONN at Creighton - 7 PM - FOX - Creighton still has the schedule left to make a move if they get hot, but they probably need to pull this one off
  • (7) Auburn at (6) Tennessee - 7:30 PM - ESPN
  • (9) St. Mary's at (3) Gonzaga - 9:30 PM - ESPN
Sunday, February 1

  • (3) Purdue at Maryland - Noon - CBS
  • (5) Alabama at (5) Florida - Noon - ABC
  • (2) Iowa State at Kansas State - 1 PM - FOX
  • TCU at Colorado - 1 PM - TNT - scraping the bottom of the barrel here
  • (2) Illinois at (2) Nebraska - 3 PM - FS1
  • (8) Iowa at Oregon - 7 PM - FS1 - Keep an eye on Iowa. Right now they'd easily be in and Torvik likes them at 99.5% but they have a tricky schedule coming up

What are you cheering for in the other games? I'm hoping a lot of bubble teams lose and give us a better margin for error during the rest of the regular season

I think it's too early to say for sure, that's why I didn't do a full bracket breakdown yet. Teams we might be for right now we could end up being against next week depending on how our next few games go. Like right now people might want to be against UCF and SMU but I think we're better off if both of those teams keep winning.

Yeah. I'm definitely rooting for SMU and UCF for the duration.
