Solo would also play the 4, not the 3 where he is a black hole at times offensively

I have said this before but I think it was borderline incompetent that Buzz and staff couldn't develop Solo into a better offensive threat with his tools. It would have been interesting to see if Bucky could but probably too hard to undo Buzz' lack of coaching in that regard in one offseason.

Payne would find a spot on any roster in the country imo.

playing solo at the 3 is a joke in modern basketball. And him at #4 doesn't work in Bucky's system. The #4 must shoot too. He is too small to b a #5 and not skilled (or have as good of motor) like Agee to compensate. He'd be a role player at best here.

Payne would be great here. Can protect the rim, can run/athletic and get dunks. He'd do himself a favor to come back here next year. Of course he won't though..

It is not a requirement that the 4 has to shoot to be good in college, in any system

Marcus Hill can't shoot as a 2 guard. It doesn't matter though

I'm also not sitting here saying he would play 30 minutes a game. It's the people that think he'd sit on the bench I disagree with

When he's locked in he's probably a top 10 defender in the country

Solo has a great motor? And he'd probably be athletic enough to make up for his size and play some 5, obviously secondary to Agee. The main improvement he'd have to make would be to play smarter on offense, he would force shots last year simply because no one else was getting good shots, but this year he'd have had to play in a real offensive system not at all like buzz's

At the end of the day though this doesn't matter and I'm just thankful Agee was declared eligible

His lack of shooting takes away opportunities for others and himself for dunks/layups.

Spacing via shooters is the key.

And he makes up for that by being the best defender on the team

You are circling away from the point. Offensively, he doesn't do what Bucky wants out there.

His defense is good, but not what he would need to get a large role here (not a big time rim protector), given the liability offensively.

I always thought Solo would be really good in this system primarily due to his athleticism and high motor. This coaching staff has gotten multiple players melded into this system over the course of this season. I expect they would have done the same with Solo.

I liked Solo, but i'd rather have guys that can just make the shots as opposed to having guys who fuel the offensive rebounding opportunities.

I think Solo would be a great weapon for this team. He's got a length and athleticism that we don't currently have. In certain press situations he would be a menace and he's also a contributor on both the paint protection and rebounding. Further, he's a plus perimeter defender.

Speculative, but I think he would be a much more capable set shooter with the confidence this staff coaches to along with the better surrounding offensive skill sets.

Short version, I think he would make us even better, quite a bit better.

payne would have been a perfect fit

solo as much as i loved him as a player for buzz he wouldn't be.

I think he would have been pretty awesome in this system. He actually did have a decent shot and wouldn't be relied upon much to shoot but his athleticism put in the open court and in the press would have been pretty nice.

I would do anything to watch Andy and Wade in this style. They are both playing well in the gleague which plays a much more similar brand of basketball
