In previous years under the last three coaches, we'd go into away games and good teams would routinely smash us by 20+ points. Routinely out-manned and out-coached by teams with a lot more talent; it felt like we rarely had a chance against good teams on the road.
It does suck that both the Tennessee game and Alabama game were winnable but the losses don't really disappoint me (whereas it'd be heartbreaking to me in previous years because it felt like on-the-road wins against good teams were so rare). We were extremely competive and had the chance to win both games in the last minute (and both games had some atrocious ref calls go against us).
Am I crazy? Probably. But it just feels so radically different to see an A&m team be able to play any team (even some of the best teams in the league) competively whether at home or on the road. These games, win or lose, are showing our tremendous potential this year for a run in the SEC tournament and March madness. We keep getting better and better and we've yet to see the cap of the team.
I realize we had some bumps earlier in the season but this team is just different.
