Game Preview
Must win. Must win. Must win. Tonight the Aggies desperately need a win after a 4 game skid. Ole Miss however is on an even worse losing streak up to 7. Something's gotta give.
6 conference games left. Everything is heightened, everything is magnified, everything is intense. If you want to dance in March, you need to take care of business in February. Everything is still in front of this team. The most crucial step is the next one and that is tonight. Take care of business.
Ole Miss came into the season with a talented roster, some big name pick ups, but have just been unable to put it together. Between injuries, lineup shuffling, and cold shooting, Ole Miss has really found themselves in a slump. Only one player has started every game for the Rebels, French guard Ilias Kamardine. He's one of only three players who average double figures along with AJ Storr who's on his 4th school and 6'9 forward Malik Dia. They do also have a sharpshooter in Patton Pinkins although he doesn't shoot a lot. Their 5th leading scorer Kezza Giffa is out. Dia is their leading rebounder. They have a couple guys with size down low but they average about 15 minutes a game.
As for us, we need to have a get right game. We need to see our defense step up. We need to see us shoot better. We need to see us turn the other team over. We need to see us play our style. One thing I really liked early on against Vandy was seeing us play with two bigs at the same time. We saw a little more from Federiko, Clemence is starting to use his size, Vinson seems to keep playing with more confidence. Along with Agee, I want to see our big men impose their will down low. Having a paint presence, along with slashers like Hill, Dibba, and Griffen, maybe that can open up space along the perimeter for our shooters.
Being at home in a must win game is huge. Playing a team on the verge of throwing in the towel is huge. It's imperative we get out to a hot start. Put the pressure on them and make them fold. Impose your will, press with intention, defend with pride, and knock down three's at home like you should. I need 15+ threes tonight! Staying ahead of the bubble, staying in the top half of the conference standings all on the line. Let's turn this around now! Hide your wives and your daughters and let's go BTHO ole miss!!
