Everything was on the line and we were behind until the last two minutes. Then all of a sudden we come alive and steal the game with clutch plays on both ends of the court. God bless Bucky Ball.

Agreed. It won't move the needle too much on the NET rating, but this was a tough and gritty performance to rally back from a double digit deficit late in the game.

Hopefully this is a catalyst to galvanize the team and finish the conference season strong.

It was a game in which a loss would have probably ruined our chances at a tourney bid barring a major road upset at Arkansas . The W keeps the hope alive. We need 2 more W's at minimum for a probable tourney bid and 3 more for a "sure thing".

To me, making the tourney this year is ahead of schedule for the Buxkyball era . I think that's about 50/50 right now so in essence ahead of schedule but we'll see how that works out.. I expect an overall positive talent influx in the offseason and a tourney bid next year . Having said that Agee will be a hard guy to replace in terms of leadership, experience, and ability to impact outcomes so we better get several guys that can play well at this level to counterbalance that .

At this point I expect we'll win at either at OU or LSU and the tourney bid will come down to winning at home vs either Kentucky or tu. Winning at Arky is just … not probable . Win at OU Saturday and the probabilities start to look pretty good imo.

Win out at home … wer'e in

Ole Miss is maybe the worst team in the SEC

Don't disagree. They found a way to lose last night. I would kill to have #0 and #2. Those are good players.

I like your use of
" Ahead of Schedule "
Basketball has massively outperformed any reasonable preseason predictions
Tourney Bid would be gravy
That being said I love Gravy

I'm so glad the losing streak is broken.

Great effort and result, Ags!

Meh. LSU and Gamecocks are clearly worse. I'd say MSU is as well despite more wins. Beard is a good coach and they've got some dudes (the two mentioned especially). Really good defense even more than size is what I'd consider our kryptonite. We really struggle when shots don't fall.

While from a high level view this is true, after starting 7-1 in conference play not making the tournament would be a devastating gut punch

Miss. State recently beat Ole Miss by double digits at Ole Miss, just beat Auburn, and has more Quad 1 and more Quad 2 wins than the Rebels. I'd concede Ole Miss has more talent notwithstanding Beard leveraging it for worse results this season.

Ole Miss has played some good teams tough, hell they beat Georgia and Mizzou, when they're good they're not easy to beat, but they're so dependent on a couple players that if one of those dudes is off they're toast.

I think the biggest thing last night is it's really the first game all season where we've played pretty poorly overall but still managed to win. That's a big step for a team.

We caught a break when Diau (#2) twisted his ankle and left the game with 2 minutes remaining. If that doesn't happen, we lose, imo.

After the 7-1 conference start it would definitely be disappointing not to make the tourney but I don't think it would be devastating . I believe we have seen enough to be confident Bucky is building something that we can be proud of and that doesn't change if we miss the tourney in yr 1 imo.

I tend to agree. Really curious what an ideal roster would look like for Bucky ball at a place like A&M. Hoping we get the chance to find out.

I think S. Carolina and LSU are the worst. Diau is really good and was a huge mismatch for us last night. We started the comeback while he was in. But when he went down you could see they didn't know what to do since everything goes through him.

The best part about the win is it came on a night when they didn't play/shoot particularly well.

If they can find their shooting stroke again, They should be in pretty good shape to make the tourney.

We blow them out if Mgbako doesn't break his foot tho.

I'm joking but stuff happens to every team that impacts wins and losses . It's just a part of the game.

I do agree we caught a break. Doesn't necessarily mean we'd have lost if he hadn't gone down tho.

That was in the early part of the conference schedule, they had lost 7 in a row prior to our game. They needed a win badly that's why I wasn't conceding an easy win before the game. You could tell they wanted that one too.

They just caught a bad break when Dia went down, but it wasn't like they gave it to us. Our defense and pressure wore them down. Look at their last few posessions, they were taking bad shots because they didn't have anything left in the tank.

I was hoping we'd find a way and Bucky was right when he said that this was a season defining game (probably because it puts on the right side of the bubble) because I thought the same thing during the game. We were horrible and missing shots we normally make. Making bad turnovers and our defense wasn't that good, but we kept hanging around. You have to be a good team to either turn a bad game around when the game is still in doubt or you have to learn how to hit the nail on the coffin when you've got a team down.

This was a resume building game in that we didn't drop a game we were supposed to win.

Yeah but they lost to Vandy by 3 a couple weeks ago and they were tied with Texas with under 3 minutes to go a few games ago before they couldn't score again (similar to last night.)

I'm not saying they're good, they're obviously not, but I'm just saying they have played some good teams tough. It's not like they're getting throat punched every night.

I know the tournament is the goal but would also be electric to watch Bucky ball run the tables in the NIT like we (sorta) did in 2022. Much more fun than a first or second round exit.

Better consolation in basketball than a boring bowl game in football.
