29-33 FT for Arky, +13 FTM differential in a 15 point game. Tough ****, need Clemence to stay hot on Saturday

We need any guard to not suck which tonight they were too short same as Bama and Florida.

I knew this would be a tough road game because we don't have the size and athleticism to compete with an Arkansas team stacked with 5-star players. I like how we scored 56 points in the 2nd half after scoring just 28 points in the 1st half, but I don't like how we allowed 62 points in the 2nd half after holding Arkansas to just 37 points in the 1st half. As a result, Arkansas snapped our 2-game winning streak and dropped us to 19-9 and 9-6 in SEC play. Hopefully, we can bounce back with a home win over Texas on Saturday.

Big differentials in
-free throws
-turnovers
-points in the paint

Ummm did you see their OR's vs ours? Rebounding and turnovers was the biggest difference.

I can't believe how sloppy we were with the ball. At a certain point, Arkie's D is good. Then we just couldn't even get a good handle on any ball and looked like a JV B-team trying to dribble and pass.

I'm actually shocked we didn't lose by 30 tonight.

Jacari jammed his face into Acuff's elbow...the nerve

Chump swung his arm. It's a flagrant if we do it

We should have done it to their top players. They would

The old jump stop knee to thigh is what works or at least used to.

Their 13 to our 6?
Yeah, but that's no surprise given our team of comparative short armed midgets.
The 3 things i mentioned are things we have more control over.

Break even on free throws, flip the turnovers, keep the points in the paint the same (would probably lower with reduced turnovers, so this is really a symptom of the actual problem) and we win.

This... It probably wouldn't have mattered, but I didn't understand why he sat so much towards the end. I know he had four fouls, but at some point you just roll the dice (since he was our only consistent scorer last night).

And I know I'm in the minority on this, but I'll never understand why some of the smaller guards insist on driving into the trees to try to get a layup when they have an open 8-10 footer. I know it isn't Bucky's system, but against certain teams, some adjustments would be helpful.

We've had some bad games, but we've had some good ones too, it's not like we've been shooting 30% for 6 games in a row. We shot it well against Oklahoma at 40% and against Missouri at 45%.

I'm actually fairly confident our offense is going to be okay, it's whether we can slow them down at all. We're going to have to extend our defense to chase Acuff off the three point line because if he gets hot out there we have no chance.

But tonight will be a good showcase for the thing we need that we just don't have on this team, and that's players that are threats from inside and outside. We don't have one, and they have several, which is why they're a top five offense. Just puts an incredible amount of stress on defenses to guard.

The closest thing we have to inside-outside threats are Griffin and Clemence and COMBINED they shoot 4.9 twos per game. Acuff alone shoots 9.9 which is 2.6 more than even Agee puts up.

I think Clemence has actually shown that he can be that threat from both inside and outside. Outstanding performance.

Yeah he did a much better job last night finishing around the basket. That's really been the thing holding him back.

Could you imagine what this team could do with a player like Q?

I think boxing out can be controlled. We stand there and think we can just out jump our larger competitors.
