Listening to Bucky's presser today it sure sounds like he feels like we need to change something up and I def agree. We don't need to panic, but sometimes it's good for the team just to mix it up and create that sense of urgency.

I think I'm currently on "start Isaacs."

I've got four things that are pretty far out front of the field from a change-it-up standpoint.

1) Start Isaacs for Lane
2) Start Isaacs for Dominguez - this makes us even smaller but does make us faster and I'd probably argue Isaacs isn't any worse a rebounder than Dominguez is
3) Start Clemence for Dominguez - This makes the most sense on paper but with Clemence's propensity to foul... I dunno
4) Both 1 and 3

Remove Mgbako's foot, replace it with the foot version of what Luke SkyWalker had for a hand (when it got cut off by his Dad), then start him at the 4.

We just don't have enough dawgs on this team.

And yes, I know Bucky got scraps. Just sucks that we are wasting Agee's year, cause he is Alpha-Dawg.

at the end of the day the top 9-10 players all
play a lot but we need to mix it up somehow someway. i like the hill takes the ball to the hole

Change up the scheme a bit to produce more open 3 pt shooters

We have t been getting a lot of good looks from 3 lately, not like we were in the first half of the season

I don't know much luck we're going to have with this unless we start making baskets at the rim first.

I think we were successful through the early part of conference play because defenses usually want to take away the drive first and it took some time for the data to pretty conclusively show that not only are we not very good at finishing at the basket, we're incredibly good at shooting from distance.

So what we've seen lately is teams just overplaying us on the outside. I don't know that any amount of scheming is going to be able to get guys open if the opponent is just absolutely determined not to let you shoot from out there. It's why we've had open cutters going to the basket but we just don't finish the play well enough.

We're going to have to beat someone by actually shooting a high percentage at the basket before anyone adjusts.

We shot 50% on close twos against Texas. Vinson, Federiko and Lane were a combined 0-7.

Start Pop and Clemence, and no more 3s for Agee unless we have another big inside. When Agee shoots a 3, it's either a make or an automatic run the other way because we have zero chance at a rebound

if we're so bad at the rim, you've gotta think our shooters with some midrange could be a countermeasure if teams absolutely won't let us get a clean 3 up. Elbow/FT line seems like it would fit some of our personnel (Fuego/Griffen especially). At least it would give teams more to think about with a pump fake and drive.

Establishing the inside game playing inside out would be a flip. Going inside to whoever our 2pt percentage leaders are could help open up opportunities for perimeter shooters.

I would get rid of Lane and start Griffin, a little more size but I could see what you have also happening

It does, but since we have t done it all year going to some mid range fjord would probably surprise the opponent and might be a good change up

Being absolutely married to a system/philosophy can sometimes be limiting

This might be one of those times because of our personnel (lack of size)

We're bad at rims shots but we're very bad at mid-range shots other than Clemence. (And Vinson, but that's probably a sample size issue.)

To me the core issue is we have this weird fear of being blocked even though most of the time you end up getting the ball back on a blocked shot so who cares. Just play to the basket and try to score, we have too many guys trying way too many circus shots around the basket or like weird hesitation moves. It's also why we don't get as many fouls called because half the time we flail around like inflatable tube men so it's hard to see us get fouled.
