I didn't see either one of those guys at all tonight. Any injury worry or was it all a message?

Also, great win. That was fun

Bucky addressed Lane in the press conference. Didn't really give a reason, but confirmed it wasn't injury or disciplinary. On Vinson, it just seems Bucky picks some games as Vinson games and some as Fede games as that 3rd big.

I was surprised we did not see Lane at all. But his play has dipped lately. I am guessing the height and size advantage of Kentucky guards was also a factor.

I was thinking it was maybe a game where Bucky wanted him to step back and just watch. A moment to take it in and hopefully get out of his own head with a hard reset.

He was really good for us earlier this year but has struggled so much lately, a night off might be what he needs to come back refocused and clear headed.

I like the player but I'm not sure he can compete with this level of talent. His only help at this point is to limit the number of our turnovers. We can't give up a position that cannot score. We have to get 3 pointers from our guards.

I think it was more about seeing what Pop and Josh do with more minutes. And they did great, especially Pop.

That is putting it kindly. He has not been agressive in penetration and without penetration, we just throw the ball around without creating any havoc. Not good when you want to shoot 30 threes a game.

Now he did play well. But he also had a pop moment at the end of the game when dribbled down the entire court taking almost no time off the clock and then had it stolen before he could shoot.
He didn't have an easy shot and he should have pulled up to waste time and wait for help to arrive.

It cracks me up. Pop played almost 30 of 40 minutes. If we had 40 possessions, he was primary ball handler on 20 or so. But the ONE play where he pushes down and turns it over get posted about dozens of times on this board.

Haters gonna hate I guess.

Agreed

But it's probably because that play was near the end of the game where every possession is magnified tenfold

Back against the wall in one of the biggest games of the year and he goes for 12 points on 7 shots, 6 rebounds which was second on the team, 8 assists to 3 turnovers and adds two steals going up against the 6-5 freaks that Kentucky has and some folks just keep hating.

I actually kinda liked the play up to the turnover. I do not believe we do well in "slow down the game and burn clock mode". I think that's how we lost SMU and maybe UT. Pushing the ball is what we do and I was happy he was doing so … right up until he got caught under the rim.

The clutch FTs were nice. He has been less than clutch, but that saved the game. Again, he really wants to win so he gets frantic trying to make things happen.

He's also sometimes a little optimistic about his teammates' abilities to make plays, that pass to Dibba worked out last night. The lob to Federiko last game was… less successful.
