OU is the 3rd team below the get-to-Dayton cut line.

We need to win tomorrow to be comfortable about avoiding Dayton.

Just look at the SEC outside of the top 4 and it's easy to see how close these teams are from being on the 7 line or going to Dayton

Georgia - Ags have the h2h road win
uK h2h home win
Mizzou home loss
tu split
OU split EDIT 2-0 against the land thieves

We didn't split w OU in reg season, but point taken.

Our SEC schedule was favorable and we didn't do well OOC. That's why it's still kind of touch and go regarding avoiding Dayton, even with our 11-7 SEC record.

Lunardi has us as a 9 seed: that doesn't seem
Like a team that's in the last 4 byes

I know he's not the be all end all but it seems we are firmly in the field and not really in any danger of heading to Dayton

And the bubble behind us is so weak that I can't see any of those teams jumping us even if they win a couple of conference tournament games

Let's just beat OU/usce to make sure, though.

This is what I talked about with the "false closeness" thing the other day. We might only be one seed line clear of, say, NC State, but the difference between the two of us in WAB is the equivalent of winning two neutral site games against Kentucky.

There's just a huge drop off in resume quality a couple of spots behind us.

We're in the tournament, comfortably. We should be looking ahead to the SECT and not whether or not we're going dancing after that. I don't care what Torvik, Lunardi or Palm say. The bubble is terrible this year and we played our way off it last week. Enough fearmongering already.

I could care less about Dayton. We had a 1 man team with no coach while Florida was lifting the trophy last year, and here we are mad we could be playing in Dayton?

I mean obviously you want to avoid Dayton anyway but some of us are trying to make plans to actually go to the games and being in Dayton would suck.

I get that, I wish that was a problem for me. I'm just excited to see something that's not plod up and down and grind down the clock. Played Bucky style ball in high school and love it see it here, especially the success we've had in Year 1

Stay in Columbus. Very underrated city. Just a little bit farther drive than CStat from Houston.

Torvik is a good site for predictive metrics, but it's not for bracketology. The vast majority of bracketologists have A&M as a 9 or 10.

Oh I'm sure Dayton is lovely, I just mean trying to plan on Sunday for a Tue/Wed game in Dayton and then maybe a Th/Fr game at a different site if we win is significantly more expensive/complicated for us poors lol.

Torvik has us as a 10 (and has bumped us up to the highest 10 as of midday).

The four play-ins are 11 seeds.

I had an idea for a travel blog a while back with the goal of it being places that nobody thinks of going to but often end up at for conferences or whatever. Basically the idea was "everywhere is fine."

Sounds like I need to move Dayton to the top of the list.

Other influencers get paid to promote high end all inclusive resorts in the caribbean, but i bet there's a Courtyard in Tulsa willing to spend the big bucks to attract an overweight 40 year old to promote their remodeled conference room.

When it comes to the tournament, Torvik is not looking at the resumes and saying "here's what I think". It's more "the data gets fed into my algorithm and this is what it says".

It's useful for evaluating the expected outcome of a game, but not so much for this.

We were part of Torvik's last four BYES. His last four IN go to Dayton for play-in. Two of his last 4 BYES are 10 seeds and two are an 11 seed. All of Torvik's last four IN are 11 seeds.

I am referencing his T-Ranketology, which at worse is no less relevant than any other bracketology. I would trust Torvik way more than Lunardi (who has an established track record of sucking).

I do not believe your characterization of his T-Ranketology is accurate.
