Overmatched and not our day today. So pumped about what he can do once he gets this rolling. From being last major coach hired and having to piece together a team to make it and win a tournament game. What a year!!! Thanks to this team for laying the foundation!

Bucky is a very smart coach. He did more than just about anyone expected by taking this team to the NCAA tournament and winning a first round game. He has a great story to tell recruits and will be able to pull in some very good talent that will complement the returning players. A solid foundation was laid by Coach McMillan in year one. I can't wait to see what the future holds under his leadership. The future of Aggie men's basketball is very bright. Whoop!

What he proved this year is he put together a good staff and found a way to be competitive in year 1. Actually made the tourney which is incredible.

We still need to see if he has the ability to put together an elite roster. The style of play will eliminate some great players. So be prepared for that. Let's not get to far ahead of ourselves. The hardest part is attracting elite players to get to the next level. Not many coaches can do it.

I'm not worried he's done it everywhere he's been and this will be the worst NCAA result the next 4 to 5 years at A&M. He's gonna get it done.

Plus I love watching his press conferences!

Met him in person a few times and he really is a nice young man and is passionate about Basketball!

Can't wait to see recruiting…..can't believe I am saying that but he has made basketball fun again for me and that is why I purchase season tickets.

Thank you Bucky!!

I don't think his style necessarily requires an 'elite' roster. It basically boils down to needing more size.

Bigger teams could just pass over our guards when they trapped and we got killed on the boards by big teams.

Get some longer guards and some rebounding bigs and we will be fine as long as they have a certain level of talent and athleticism. But they don't have to be elite.

I think his style of play will attract a lot more players than it will eliminate.

Kids want to play up tempo not Buzz ball.

A few weeks ago you heard one of the announcers allude to it. He was a former NBA player. He said on TV that he would not like to full court press all game and this system would not interest him.

I was on board from the beginning and knew this was a homerun hire, after watching this season i am of the belief this will be the worst NCAA showing we have for the next five seasons with Bucky.

Bingo. I played on a youth basketball team and we used to press the entire game, every game. I loved the aggressiveness of it, and it worked because a lot of kids that age were still developing ball-handling skills. It can be a great equalizer for the smaller schools, like having an offense designed around the option in football, but I don't think it's effective at attracting elite athletes (and it's not particularly effective agains elite ball-handlers).

This is the most excited I've been about any of our programs with who we have in charge.

He literally didn't inherit one starter and put together a team from the transfer portal after the majority of the top talent had already signed since he was hired later in the process.

Once he gets his recruits in the system and gets a full transfer portal season to add some better talent then the round of 32 will be his floor.

He is Awesome with the fans and did an amazing job with his first season. I told my kids when he was hired that if we went .500 then I would consider that a successful first season.

But making it to the round of 32 was some of the best coaching I've ever seen with what he took over.

I wish I was rich because I would be donating lots of money to help Bucky succeed here.

Bucky is a good coach. Need an NIL fund to help him succeed. Any long-term success will HAVE to have NIL to sustain it.
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.

Bucky also pulls yo out every 3 minutes or so. Elite players are not going to want to do that.

I am very impressed by what Bucky did this year for y'all's team. How he pieced together a team and transformed them in short order was impressive. He is a great coach.

Basketball is about the dudes. We need more high caliber players if we want to compete.

I think 2nd Gen ag has a point, NBA prospects arent going to want to go somewhere you press most of the game
.
However, you dont need a team full of elite nba prospects to make deep runs.
There are a LOT of players in that next rung down you could go get that would be multiple levels above the roster we just ran out last year.

And its not to diminish this years team in any way, just being realistic that we can still expect the talent level to increase.

What he promised- he delivered. That's a rare thing these days!

Actually, he underpromised and overdelivered.

Love Bucky and Bucky Ball energy. Will our roundball NIL be able to keep up with the Calipari's in our conference? Talent level matters.

Bucky recognizes that his players are human and would rather have 3-4 minutes of all out effort and then rest than 12 minutes of lazy basketball. He gives 10-12 guys meaningful minutes and if a dude can give 100% for longer, Bucky will keep him on the court. He doesn't just pull a guy after 3 minutes for the hell of it. Man you really can find an ounce of negative in a gallon of good. I pity the people around you.

He did a great job!

I am just telling you what people have said. Some great players don't want to full court press all game and come out every 3 or 4 minutes.

And we are not an elite program nor pretend to be. But we can be a damn good one, and there will be some damn good players that are attracted to Bucky's style of ball.

How far will it take us is yet to be seen, but he's proven the floor is higher than many anticipated so hopefully the ceiling is too.

I personally hope he stays away from the one and dones anyway - if that is what you are calling elite.

I am not convinced that is a winning strategy for a school like A&M (football school). I think it works at the bluest of blues bc they have the resources to reload each and every year, but the competing pressure to fund both sports (and the myriad other sports on campus) I think hurts our ability to really grab those kids each year which you have to count on with one and dones.

That said, not trying to discount your point, but I believe the kinds of kids that he wants to recruit were on the other side of the UH roster. Elite motor, physical athletes that can shoot and pressure all game. Likely not NBA first rounders, and perhaps only 1-2 NBA players on the roster at a time. Take his team this year, add athletic guards, a big time shot blocker and some more consistent ball on defenders and you have an Elite 8 team. Perhaps not championship but that is a dream right now.
