I think our offensive will be significantly better and in the tradeoff our defense will be a little bit worse statistically.
We were not athletic enough to force a ton of turnovers this year. We were good at it, especially against bad teams, but we weren't great at it. And even when we did force them we weren't particularly good at finishing in transition.
That shouldn't be the case next year. We're much bigger across the board, we're more athletic, so our press should force more turnovers which should lead to more easy baskets which means our offensive numbers should be significantly better. But in the tradeoff for better offensive numbers, I think we'll be a little less efficient overall defensively.
I think Bucky did a good job last year of getting the best players he could, and getting them to play as close to his style as we could given their limitations, but against quality competition we couldn't really impose our will on the game very often. I think next year we'll be able to do that at a higher level.
So specific stats I think we'll improve: points per possession offense, turnover percentage defense, points in transition, FG% on close 2s, defensive rebounding %
