I have a feeling that LSU V ATM will be an afternoon game on CBS. the only other matchup that might get it is Bama v Tenn, but Tenn has been down for a while so the may pick this one.

La Tech could be a serious game... Aggees writing that game off may regret it if we come out with a loss. La Tech is a good team.

@SACR, no man I'm not a troll, I'm just a Gator fan giving my thoughts on the games and Texas A&M! And being in the top 6 in the SEC is a compliment. It means yall would have a good chance to compete in the SEC CG. I know SEC football and these teams is STACKED man!

LA Tech had to go to OT to eek out a win against Central Arkansas. Anyone that thinks the Ags will not curb-stomp that team is fooling themselves. Shoulda beat UH? Uh, ok, and A&M should beat O$U/Piggie/KSU/sippy/Mizzou last year too.

Not worried too much about LA Tech.

Regarding the Gators, I expect that they will be prepared for this game. The environment they are going to experience will be familiar to them. They bring a solid top-5 defense to Kyle Field, but I have to wonder what kind of offensive ability they have? Last years was not too good on that side of the ball.

I think the Ags will prevail in this game. It's a night game, it's the first-ever SEC game, and it is, like it or not, a statement game for the Ags as they enter the SEC. Win it and a mid-level record + bowl becomes a real possibility. Lose and the Ags will struggle to even make a bowl.

Your 24-10 prediction does make me think. We are going to have to get used to a different game. Not many SEC games end up with both teams over 20, much less 30 points each like they did in the Big 12. If our offense stalls a few drives, our D will have to be prepared to pick up the slack. That was a fundamental component of most of our meltdowns last year.

LA Tech will be a tough opener. We're breaking out a new QB and new systems on both sides of the ball, in their house. As previous poster said, they bring back a lot of talent and were very good at their level of competition last year.

But we've played at a higher level of competition, so our athletes should be able to take over in the 2nd Half. Maybe we'll run up the score by the end of the game, but I expect a tough game for 2-3 quarters.

If our players don't take them seriously, they could pull an upset. Stranger things have happened in season openers.

Most people on here sway one or two ways, which is confusing... It's either A&M will get hammered or A&M will be unrealistically awesome over the years.

My Realistic Predictions, if A&M keeps recruiting similiarly to their 2013 class.

2012: 7-5 | Wins: SMU, LaTech, Sam Houston, Ole Miss, Missouri, South Carolina St., Miss. State(losses: LSU, Bama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida)

2013: 8-4 (Losses: LSU, Bama, Ark?, ?)

2014: 9-3

2015: 9-3

Note: that it is hard to say how our 2014 and 2015 teams will do because a lot can change both ways in 2-3 years

Look for Sumlin to step on La Tech's throat. If he can do it, he will want to blow them out of the water. Exact opposite of what Sherman wanted to do, which is get up by 1 point and then play to not get beat.

I think Carloina State and La. Tech are our trap games. You have to watch any team who is glad to be there and were not.

@Cinco Ranch Aggie, I understand what you saying, but you cant playaround with FCS schools! I'll give you a few examples.
1. Eastern Kentucky played Kansas State in the opener last year and the score was 10-7. With K- State winning.
2. GSU put up 21 on Bama, that's the most points Bama allowed from a single team last year!
3. Jasonville State won at Ole Miss in their opener of 2010.
4. I think Sam Houston State is ranked 1 or 2 this year, last yr they were ranked 2 with North Dakota at 1 and GSU #3!

So that's why LA Tech went to OT with Central Arkansas, these teams don't come in the game with an under dog mentality, they come to play

@Howlin Possum, I totally agree with you man! Last year LA Tech went to Ole Miss and beat them 27-7, and Ole Miss almost beat Arkansas! But they lost at Mississippi State in OT, and Mississippi State is the real deal man! If you look at their last yr schedule only one loss was out of there hand and that was to Hawaii. The other losses could have been won by a FG or a TD! They have a tough team, that's why I view the game as a toss up and it prepares A&M a lil better for Florida! We play Bowling Green in the our opener! But when when Florida and A&M it's going to be an interesting game.

Bama, LSU, UGA, USC, then Aub/A&M/UF/ARK arguments can be made for any of these to be #5.

I look for us to finish with a .500 record in the SEC this year.
