Got me thinking, I'm tired of kissing a** to the SEC and want to start talking smack about our new rivals. Of course, when I think of Florida I always think of Scenic Gainsville. The one truck stop off the interstate and the Drag Race strip they have there.

Gainesville is almost identical in every way to College Station- only prettier (better and infinitely more live oaks than the few we have scattered about on campus, supplemented with post oaks), but noticeably less comfortable in the summer when "The Swamp" earns its nickname. The students are much more diverse (roughly half are "south Florida" and halt are "central/north Florida kids). There are a good number that are a lot like many A&M students, but also a good number of SoFla "bro" types (think neon all day, every day). However, both universities are very good academically, and even share a lot of academic focuses (business schools, Ag schools, Vet schools, etc). Obviously a bit more liberal than A&M (but who isn't?). Other SEC schools hate the uprising of Florida athletics becuse for a long time they were fairly a hick ish good ol' boy school, and don't necessarily have the same history that some of the deeper South schools have, but now suddenly have a great deal of success to hang their hats on, and can at times be insufferable. All in all, I would have loved to see A&M and UF maintain a rivalry, as I think their fanbases would get along well.

I look back to see where we were, and what a mess that thing is now and then i see where we are now. I can wait on the smack talk with sec fans. Let them take their shots. I am just so happy that we are out of the big clusterf_ck conference!
