Curious to get the scoop on your receiving corps after losing Adams, Childs, Wright, and Williams in the draft and after the recent dismissals? Who's gonna step up besides Hamilton?

Not exactly a hog fan but here's my two cents. Hamilton is unproven. Apparently more talented than the other three. Wade was supposed to be another but he has run into trouble with the law.
So there is my short, outdated report.

This has been my thought. Outside of Hamilton and gragg there isn't much, and can Hamilton succeed now that defenses don't have to worry about other playmakers

The Hog's are actually very deep at Reciever! The reason you never heard of any of them is they couldn't get on the field with 3 seniors we lost to the draft! With quite possibly the best QB in the country they won't have to be that great to put up very good numbers. The running game With Knile back will be stellar! The entire offensive line returns! The big question mark will be Linebacker ( an extremely important position in the SEC) . The Hog's have a big fall off after the starters! In fact our Starting Fullback will play both ways to help with MLB.

Surprised to hear you say linebacker when you have Alonzo highsmith because he's all we hear about but similar to A&M it's a depth issue.

Wow, even with Davis likely getting the vast majority of carries, the running back playing both ways thing is pretty wild. That will be interesting to watch.

HSG is correct. LB is Ark's biggest concern not WR. Whoever posted that Cobi Hamilton is unproven is silly. Wade being dismissed definately hurts but several of the guys behind the "big 3" from last year should be ready to step up. Some new names to watch for are Horton, Minor, Herndon and an incoming JC D. Wilson. They also have 4 frosh WR's coming in who were all highly thought of...the best might be K. Hatcher who caught 100 passes his SR. year and had over 1,000 yards rec his Jr and Sr. years. Had to sweat out if he would sign with UA or Ok St on signing day!

WR is simply an unknown right.

Cobi Hamilton is the number one name, but there is a big hitch. In nov of 2010, he dislocated his kneecap. Not necesarily a bad hit or anything. Just took a hit at a bad angle while going full blast.

Very bad injury, with MCL and ACL damage to boot. He got the right surgery and rehab, but he still has not shown that Texas State Champion 200 meter speed as yet since the injury. He took some huits last year and weatered them just fine, but as of the Cotton Bowl, he still showed some mental hesitation on going full blown sprinter speed.

The 3 names to watch are Javaunte Herndon, Keante Minor, and Demarcus Winston (sp?), Winston is the Juco transfer. Herndon most resembles Joe Adams, and may indeed take Joe's spot on punt return.

It would be foolish to say Herndon is same calibre of punt returner as Adams. Herndon has retured punts before, but have to say he doesn't strike fear into other teams like Adams did.

Minor and Winston.. have the physical tools to be good, but to be honest, they have not proven anything yet.

WR for Arkansas is a big unknown right now. Anything else said, pro or con, are people talking out of their butte.

Born is exactly right! Who knows what they'll do? The key is Knile Davis-Dennis Johnson running behind Kiero Smalls 6'0" 260. Far too much is being made of the loss of our receivers!
We fans all like to talk about our great first team players. The thing that is so hard to explain about the SEC is the importance of depth at every position. After the first 4 or 5 SEC games starters and back- ups will be playing with broken fingers and bruised ribs.
This goes for everyone! Not just A&M.
The saying goes " they'll cut your throat and drink your blood"! At the same time this is what you'll love about the SEC! You'll get stung a few times this year but when you steal 4 or 5 top recruits from tu every year---uh oh

thats the 24 dollar question right now.

There is physical talent there, but is it the caliber that justr left..?

Most would tend to say no.. I am taking maybe an optimsitc apporaach and saying we just dont know.
