Just to clarify some things.....
1) Mizzou has literally ZERO interest in the B1G. When feelers were being put out in 2010 between MU and B1G, the "junior" membership came up and that was the end of it. There was a semi-handshake agreement if Texas, OU, oSu and TT went to the PAC so that MU had a landing spot. MU was most definitely interested in the CiC but was not going to accept junior status. Nebraska could afford Junior Membership. There was never really anyone in line for the first B1B spot other than NU.
2) Apparently, articles/columns/rumors,etc. over the last year have brought to light that Mizzou and the SEC have been keeping on eye on each other since as early as the 70s. Both were interested but not willing to start trouble over the interest. I think the SEC was interested because MU was VERY good during the 60s.
With the SEC Consortium, there is absolutely zero reason for MU to ever consider leaving the SEC. The amount of money the SEC schools are pouring into their research facilities right now is quite amazing. MU has been at almost full capacity as far as research facilities for a while. MU having access to additional resources available via the SECC was a huge draw.
Anyone thinking Mizzou is a flight risk is borderline insane.
