Should the SEC added WVU instead of Missourah?

SEC or Bust

Missouri hands down is the better choice between the two schools.

No way WVU. No major TV markets, and this is a state that has fewer people today than in 1950.

With ND making the deal with the ACC, the Big 10 is closed until further notice. Mizzou is not going anywhere for a long time.

At least a meth-labber from Missou is a wanna be businessman. A dumpster fire starting couch burner from West Virginia is a lowly vandal. One that vandalizes his own stuff no less.

Yeah, Mr. Slive made the better choice.

WV throws the ball far too much to be in the SEC! [/idiot-moran]

Just to clarify some things.....

1) Mizzou has literally ZERO interest in the B1G. When feelers were being put out in 2010 between MU and B1G, the "junior" membership came up and that was the end of it. There was a semi-handshake agreement if Texas, OU, oSu and TT went to the PAC so that MU had a landing spot. MU was most definitely interested in the CiC but was not going to accept junior status. Nebraska could afford Junior Membership. There was never really anyone in line for the first B1B spot other than NU.

2) Apparently, articles/columns/rumors,etc. over the last year have brought to light that Mizzou and the SEC have been keeping on eye on each other since as early as the 70s. Both were interested but not willing to start trouble over the interest. I think the SEC was interested because MU was VERY good during the 60s.

With the SEC Consortium, there is absolutely zero reason for MU to ever consider leaving the SEC. The amount of money the SEC schools are pouring into their research facilities right now is quite amazing. MU has been at almost full capacity as far as research facilities for a while. MU having access to additional resources available via the SECC was a huge draw.

Anyone thinking Mizzou is a flight risk is borderline insane.

A&M and Mizzou both were great fits for the two things the SEC wanted most - markets and academic chops.
WVU provides neither of these.

I'm not worried about Mizzou ever leaving. Unless they are perennial last place in the East (don't see that happening), it's hard to imagine they would take a huge step-down in exposure to go B1G.

NO, WVU is a small population state

NO, WVU has no "brand" in football or basketball

NO, WVU is too far north

NO, UK and UT are already in the SEC and they have better booze

NO, WVU has too many couch burnings for the SEC

I stopped reading here; we have a winner...EOT!
