Alabama still have us, Miss St and LSU left to play. Their computer rank will improve with their SOS. Same for most of the SEC. And then there's the conference champ game which will also bump up the SOS for those two teams.
Teams in weak conferences that have to get their SOS elsewhere will be higher early in the season than teams in strong conferences who generally play weaker non-conference schedules.
I do agree that releasing an official BCS ranking too early can wrongly influence voters. Some might jump on a team's bandwagon or they might vote against a team more harshly than they would otherwise because they think they are being overrated.
Of course you could make the same argument to releasing voter rankings in the preseason or the first couple weeks during the season.
