In the event this happens, do you think a 1-loss SEC team will make the national championship game, considering the number of unbeatens out there?

Nope, a 1 loss SEC won't go this year. Oregon is a very good football team. I don't expect them to lose another game. ND, while not as good, doesn't really play anyone else except a functional but not great USC team. KState might drop one from their remaining, but that'd still leave two unbeatens and they'd go over a one loss.

Not so sure about that. If LSU wins out I think they climb to #2 in the BCS by the end of the season. Beating Bama should bump them up quite and I think another win over a top 5 Georgia team in the SEC championship game will get them there.

It's likely we'll have 2 undefeated teams, so no.

Jeez. Going to be some not-so-happy SEC fans if A&M plays spoiler to the 7th straight SEC MNC by upsetting Bama. Unlikely, but possible.

It doesn't matter. If the SEC doesn't get into the game we should just proclaim our conference champion as the National Champion.

I agree - I think if LSU or Bama ends up with 1 loss (as long as Bama's loss isn't to LSU or in conference championship game) I think they would go over one of the unbeatens.

With the polls being 67% of the BCS standings, a one loss team isn't going to jump an undefeated team. The undefeated team would have to be way, way down in the computer polls at the end of the year, and not from a power conference.

If there is an undefeated from the Pac12 or B1G, they will go over a one loss SEC team. Now, an undefeated KSU might get jumped simply because the Big 12s Strength is going to be severely weakened when they only have 3 teams in the top 25 at the end of the year.

Oh, and quit focusing on a one loss team from the West. #7 Florida is your most likely, especially if they beat FSU who is ranked #8. Both Georgia and LSU have Alabama still on their schedule, which means if form holds, Florida will be #5 at worst, pending upsets ahead of them.
