Anyone know when the SEC will get a new TV contract? We should be loaded after that goes through.

I believe I read an article that said they are close...within a few months. It should be the highest TV contract in college football but remember that it won't include all media rights and the real money will come once the SEC Network has been established.

Thanks, I hope it is huge, A&M could really use that cash to distance our-self from in-state rivals with the highest paid staffs, best facilities and all.

Clay Travis on out kick the coverage has posted several articles about this. The big money projections are still tied to the SEC network and not the Tier 1 and 2 rights (although those will still be "huge" relative to what other conferences are currently getting). Take the in-footprint subscriber fees the B1G Network is getting and multiply by the subscriber base in the SEC footprint. Big $... And you'll then also understand why there is 0 chance another Texas school or any Oklahoma school is accepted into the conference. It also makes it crystal clear why the B1G added Rutgers and Maryland.

From Clay's analysis, A&M and Mizzou adds almost 50% more cable subscribers.

So even before the SEC Network's revenues, if the SEC is currently getting $20M per school, then around $30M isn't out of the question. Factoring in the SEC Network & the league's MNC dominance, my guess it would be closer to $40M (depending on subscriber fees & ESPN's cut).

If the ACC schools are only getting $17M, UNC and UVA would jump ship & join before VT and NCST takes their spot.
