We are headed to Fayetteville for baseball this weekend. Where are the good places to eat, local hangouts, and places we need to go while we are there?

Most visitors will go to Dickson street near the university. There are several good places to eat, drink, etc. It's a fairly condensed area. Doe's Eat place is always good for a good steak or you can step it up a notch and go to Bordino's. You'll probably need a reservation.
Since there will be a lot of activity this weekend, with the baseball game and Spring game, it will be fairly crowded.
Your second option, would be to head up north to Rogers and Pinnacle. There are some restraunts in the Promenade that may be of interest, PF Changs, Texas Land and Cattle, among a few others. Directly across 540 at the Pinnacle Hill shopping area, there's Ruth Chris, but I recommend Bonefish grill (get the Bang Bang shrimp).

Catfish Hole!

Catfish Hole = WAY overrated though I'm not sure if there is much better in NWA.

In my estimation, central Arkansas has NWA beat when it comes to good fish places.

Speaking of Central Arkansas, did you ever eat at the Ice House buffet in Sheridan? That place has been long closed, but we lived just south of there back in the 90s. That place had some of the best fish I've ever eaten.

Heard of the Ice House but never ate there. The Whippet Drive-In is in Prattsville (west of Sheridan) and they have good fish. Arkansas does a good job with fried catfish, but I do miss Texas BBQ.
