• I've been very skeptical of Will Frizzell the past few years. I love the power, but there have been some holes in his swing. This year, he is a totally different player. I have to give him a lot of credit. I think he is putting himself in a position to succeed.
   
• South Carolina is just better top-to-bottom. Their lineup is not overwhelming, but they have some great pieces. They also have more consistency in the pitching staff than Texas A&M. They are doing a lot of the little things better than A&M. When pitchers are not consistent and your offense is struggling, that is just a bad recipe.
   
• If you're A&M, Arkansas has been a team who you've played close the past few years. A&M will have to fire on all cylinders and show consistency from the bullpen to pull out a win this weekend.
   
• Tennessee-Vandy might be the series of the year in the SEC. If you would've told me that before the season, I probably would've laughed. The Vols play with a chip on their shoulder, so this weekend could be very fun. I cannot wait to see Jack Leiter against that Tennessee lineup.
   
• The biggest key for Ole Miss this weekend is to be more consistent on the mound. It will be interesting to see how much production Mississippi State can from the middle of their lineup this weekend.
   
• Regarding teams that are making staff changes or changes at the top, I think you will see half the rosters being turned over with this new one-time transfer rule. If a program is being reshaped, why wouldn't a stud player take advantage of the transfer portal in that situation? The transfer portal right now has about 500 names in it, and I wouldn't be surprised to see that grow to about 2,000 by about July 1.
   
• Next weekend, I will be in College Station to check up on Will Frizzell. I haven't seen him since Round Rock. I also want to get a look at Tony Vitello and the Volunteers in person.
