During Wednesday’s edition of TexAgs Radio, former SEC Player of the Year Boomer White joined to offer analysis of the College Station Regional and looks ahead to Texas A&M’s super regional series against Louisville.

Key notes from Boomer White interview:

  • It was definitely enjoyable to see Texas A&M get the TCU monkey off their back. Once my old teammates were out of TCU, it made it easier to fully support A&M. Coach Kirk Saarloos, Bill Mosiello and some staff are people that I hold very dear to my heart, but I could be more on the Aggies’ side during that game on Sunday.

  • Coach Jim Schlossnagle was in an uncomfortable position. He had his questions. You want to win that game to know you made the right decision. It was a very awkward yet memorable experience.

  • I think the best part about the regional is they found a way to not play on Monday. The regional play around the country last weekend, I had never seen anything like it. I would argue we had the hardest one facing Oral Roberts, Louisiana and TCU. Other regionals around the country would have made life easier for the Aggies.

  • You know the dam is going to break around the sixth or seventh. You always question the hitters and their belief. I was nervous, but you see that first rock move, and then offense gets going.

  • After Arkansas, I knew this team would make a postseason run when you bring in a top-five team and see that our bats can handle their arms. Even the best of the best, there are times that this offense can put a dent in anyone.

  • It took a while for them to come into their own with the grad transfers and the experience within the program. You knew Troy Claunch from the beginning was going to be one of those guys. Dylan Rock too. Nathan Dettmer, Micah Dallas and Rody Barker are leaders. There are seven or eight players that I think could take on a team captain role, and that makes this team so special.

  • How these games have shaken out, Schlossnagle has been forced to take his chances. If you play conservative, you could give up 15 runs and only score six. With the confidence of this team, he’s been able to make changes, and we’ve seen it up close and afar.

  • The 12th Man was incredible this weekend. Fans chanting your name and all eyes on you, it’s such a unique three, four, five-hour environment. All these guys will stop playing one day like I did, and they will miss it. It’s indescribable.

  • Louisville will be tough. They will score runs. I think we will be in it for three or four hours. Maybe one of the starters or relievers goes long innings and shuts them down, but it will be tight the whole time.

  • The key to this weekend is the bullpen. There has been so much inconsistency with Dettmer and Dallas, and you can’t bank on them going longer than four innings. The relievers and closers will have to do their job.

  • Getting to the College World Series would be quite the story, wouldn’t it?
