The ladies are doing a great job. Keep it up. Need to start following them more closely.

Trisha Ford is 'not satisfied' following series victory in Lexington
Texas A&M softball took two of three from then-No. 11 Kentucky over the weekend in Lexington, but the Aggies are not satisfied. On Tuesday, head coach Trisha Ford joined TexAgs Radio to recap the road trip and look ahead to A&M's five-game week.
Key notes from Trisha Ford interview
- We had a successful weekend. We definitely played better. Our players would be the first to tell you that I thought we had a good shot of sweeping the series. There's always something to improve. It was a great series win, but let's not be satisfied with two out of three. I want to continue to get better and get that three out of three.
- Offensively, I think we've come alive. I think our pitching has been really good. Our freshmen have really been dynamic. Keely Williams and Amari Harper have been great.
- When we score more early on, there's definitely a trend. We do well, and it's a game of momentum. When you come out swinging, it's usually going to go your way.
- We have talked about this before but scoring early in innings 1-3, 4-6 and the seventh is about understanding how many batters we want to get out in that first inning and tiring thor pitchers out.
- I want them to grow up when it gets really hard. Get back up and continue to fight even if you don't win. There are some pride factors that I think are really important to address, and even though you are down by five twice, you can come back and win like we did.
- If you look at Rylen Wiggins’ nonconference numbers, they weren’t good, but she does what a pro player does. She analyzes and works on her craft. She never threw in the towel, and she has told me before that she wants to figure this out.
- Aiyana Coleman is someone who has an extreme amount of power. She's so strong. Riley Valentine is getting good time. Gracyn Coleman is doing great behind the plate.
- We have Lamar today, Incarnate Word tomorrow and then Tennessee this weekend. We are going to play a lot of softball these next couple of days, but you got to show up. If you don't show up, anyone can beat anyone. To me, there's no better way than getting those reps in than playing softball.
- With balancing my life, my first priority is softball. There's a lot of 1 a.m. to 2 a.m. in the office nights. My family is an athletic family, and we love sports. I do hope I can sneak over to Olsen to see them play tonight. Jim Schlossnagle is such a good guy. We are lucky to have them. Our baseball team is playing against really tough teams. They are getting all this good info to get to a certain point at the end of the season. They have to learn from these games, and I’m sure that's what Jim is sharing with his team. I definitely think that's something that I transfer to my team.
