Fyi, if you're driving up today, and you're still South of Wichita I would suggest you go straight up I-135 to Salina, 281 up to York, NE then East on 80 to Omaha.

Hwy 75 is going to be one clogged up MFer today as it's only a 2 lane road the vast majority of the route between Topeka and Nebraska City.

Lotta two lane traffic (Construction zones) on I-35 between Wichita and Topeka too!

This was the suggested route from google apple and Waze yesterday when we left at 5am from Houston.

We made the drive in just under 12.5 hours on the road, had stops for breakfast, bathroom/gas, lunch, and bathroom. Really made incredible time.

I make the trip up that way multiple times a year and I second going Salina to York to Omaha. Police like to hang out around the east side of York in my experience.

we left Topeka this morning around 6 and haven't had any issues on 75. Not much traffic and there are tons of passing lanes

Not much traffic before 7am. That will change as the day progresses. I live in Topeka so it'll be 75 for me as well. Hope I don't catch the train in Dawson.

But the 281 to 80 route is definitely the best option.

By the way, I don't know if there's surge pricing, but you need to download the "Park Omaha" app before you get out there.

I usually park at about Chicago & 17th under I-480. It's an easy 6-8ish block walk. Has been $15 for an all day park this week.
