How has the last two splash hires went? Yeah we won under schloss, but he completely demolished the program. Dude is a stellar coach… he will do great at A&M give him a shot.

The interest a lot of coaches have is using the opening as leverage for a raise.

Between the Looch update last night and Texags radio this morning, it's not looking like we will make a good hire. They are prepping us now.

Heefner is a great coach and hire if that who it happens to be. People need to quit disparaging the man just because he's coming from a small program with very limited resources. He's top 10 in developing MLB talent. If you need a "splashy" name, think for a minute how the last 2 in Jimbo and Schloss have worked out.

One thing to ALWAYS look for in coaching. A guy that does more with less.

For example, no team spends more money on players than Texas. If you get fired as the baseball coach at Texas that means you are a failure and you have nobody to blame but yourself. You had everything you needed to win; you had every advantage.

If you win, despite the limitations put on you (like our rumored hire), that is saying something.

I believe the players understand this. I believe anybody leaving would be leaving regardless of who was hired.

On the long Heefner threads tons have posted details on why he would be a great hire. If all these posters choose to ignore them. That's on them.

Heefner would be a great hire.

For anyone that has been genuine in their disgust for Schloss and tu and their lack of integrity the past three days, Heefner should be a very exciting hire. Not many better guys in the college coaching profession.

Heefner never had a recruiting class higher than 30th in the nation. Even then that's pretty rare as most of their recruiting classes ranked 80th or below.

I'm a Director with one of the largest select organizations in the country and Heefner has not had 1 of our players go there. We have players at A&M, tu, Tech, UF, Vandy, Bama, Tennessee, FSU, Miami, UH, plus other teams all across in SEC, Big 12, ACC so forth.

You don't see any other players from similar sized select organizations at DBU either. So his recruiting should be very concerning point here.

Im still expecting Skip Johnson. Several mentioned his interest in the job early on and its been quiet on him ever since. I think some of these other names are just noise and its going to be Skip.

I also expect most to be disappointed by that so the damage control this morning still makes sense.

A&M doesn't need an elite coach to elite? WTF?

Look at LSU with Smoke. They were terrible.

Every program needs an elite coach to be elite.

If Olin is in the know, this is a very bad sign.
