Main points of an Earley hire

1. Keeps roster together. Huge bonus to keep a top roster together for a first time head coach. He may change some things, but having a talented roster that knows the operations of what just got them 2 runs from a natty is a BIG help to a first time HC. Our best chance at another Natty run and taking away the pain from Schloss.

2. Huge player endorsements, players know what good coaches look like. They know when a coaches coaching helps and hurts. They know when a coach knows what he's talking about. They know when they can trust a coach. I would not take the massive player endorsements lightly and they are coming out in waves right now.

3. Significant blow to Schloss, I'm sure there are things Schloss already has in mind to negatively recruit against A&M and Earley if he's hired. But Keeping this roster together would have a serious impact on preventing Schloss from dominating recruiting in Texas if we are beating him on the field. Earley is also a top assistant that knows how Schloss operates, which will be hard to replace. Cain also gets to watch Earley get a top HC job after just helping Schloss try to torch our program.

4. More loyalty, giving an assistant their first HC job buys you more loyalty than money can. They understand you are taking a chance on them and you are launching their career to new heights... We just had a HC leave after 3 years and within 24 hrs of a natty. Loyalty matters.

5. first hand experience of A&M, he's been here. He knows people in our athletics department, he knows the teams in our conference, he knows what to expect on the road, he knows what to expect at Blue Bell.

6.College coaching is now a young man's game. Nick Saban has already said something to this extent.Tony Vitello is 45. The College Sports schedule and recruiting is more rigorous than ever before.

7. His pitching coach would be the most important assistant for him most likely, he's been our hitting coach. He'll need a great pitching coach and to really dive into that as elite HC's need to understand all parts of the game.

8. Ratlin Bog, very good chance he's been practicing his Ratlin Bog at home this season and was preparing to bust it out next season. Only one way to know.

I just can't. Not unless he spills every slimy thing he knows, and I find it very hard to believe he doesn't know.

If we did it with Elko why not Early?

He's an elite hitting coach and recruiter. There certainly is more to being a head coach but none of the coaches that are consistently in Omaha seem to want the job, so hire a guy who you think can grow into an elite coach.

Getting Earley back is obvious.

Does not have to be as head coach though.

Don't hire some someone with name Jim in it. Thats the lesson here.

I found it very hard to believe he was involved. I can't count the number of times I've chatted with him. He's good and solid.

It's been said that there's at least one assistant who knew nothing. The only one I can be sure it was is Earley.

I hope he's the AssocHC with someone at HC to teach him how to run a program. Or he's HC with an assistant(s) that has been a HC before.

My only concern with it is that there's a learning curve to being in charge of the whole ship. You may have taken the wheel a few times and think you can steer it... But when you're responsible for the lives of everyone on board it's just different. He'll need real support if he's chosen.

It appears that Vitello has the following:

1. Complete and unwavering support of his players.

2. The ability to think outside of the box when it came to his rotation.

If you have the horses it doesn't require a genius to win ballgames. Biggest thing is recruiting the horses (Earley can) and putting people in the position to win (seems Schloss didn't so no loss if Earley can't)

Earley still needs a top notch recruiting coordinator like Nolan Cain on staff and a top notch pitching coach. Early is a hitting coach and will need good assistants.

Hard to say no when they haven't been reached out to. I suppose both of them could have sent a carrier pigeon or a smoke signal

The players won all those games this year. If they want Michael Earley to be the head coach and that means Jace, Gavin and both Sorrell and Kent are back on the team next year, we have a real shot at another top 8 seed.

In this situation, giving a young man his first shot at managing with good talent and building a supportive coaching staff may make him the next Tony V. Let's give it a shot.

The fact that it likely hurts the lying traitor and Chris Del Boca Vista is icing on the cake.

I have a bit also. What's changing my mind is seeing the support of so many current and past players. That's pretty big IMO.

It provides some CONTINUITY to our program. Exactly what we need MORE of at this time. I'm not discounting others that remain with the program but we need as many beloved or respected staff by the players to STAY.

i would think one of the huge pros of going with early would be the cost savings available for assist coaches. you could get early on the cheap and surround him with the best assistant coaching staff money could buy. use the theeeilliom texas owes us and away we go.

Yes keep the team together. Don't let them scatter to the 4 winds! Too many good players to let them get award!
