we are going after Tony Vitello? Not saying it's going to happen, but we could easily double his current salary if we wanted.

I think we're going after Bochy... that's why the Rangers are slumping.

Makes sense, especially if we've been going after him since late-April.

Nothing I've read or seen since Alberts took over indicates we are willing to double a highly paid coach's salary. Im surprised we even reached out to him. I can't see why he would leave UT short of a massive money whip and I don't think we're prepared to do that.

We have a better chance of hiring Schloss back than we do of hiring Vitello. Good Lord.

What a difference a week makes.

This exact time last week.

Schloss is my hero. Tony V is slime.

I don't understand this fascination with Coach Vitello. I thought most of us thought he acted like an ass during the World Series. Is this who we want representing us on the sidelines?
The coach that I was impressed with but don't know much about was from Kentucky Nick Mingione.
I have not heard his name mentioned so I assume he is not in the running.

His name has certainly been mentioned, and you haven't heard any refutal out of Lexington yet. But I just don't see that one happening. I'd love to have the guy here if that was an option

But I'm way too excited about this Earley thing now to go back there

What if it is so quiet because it's Saturday Morning and everyone reporting is watching Cartoons with their kiddos?

It's all making sense now! So once the Ags move on a hire a new coach, maybe Bochy and the boys and get on a roll and pick up some wins

Re UK coach.....nice guy and appears well liked. Team was over rated some and
small ball not all that popular, although t.u. Cliff and Augie won a lot with pitching, defense and small ball.

We all had that one way wrong. I still think Vitello is a dewsh, but he's all about his players.

Not going to hear a refutal out of Lexington…. Yet. Imagine you just won the CWS and Texas A$M comes calling. You are going to use that to renegotiate a hell of a contract either with your current employer or a new one.

He is an on the field. No doubt about it. But he is who he is and he doesn't hide it. Apparently off the field he's a pretty good dude. Love him or hate him- he's a damn good coach who lays it all out (even flaws) for everyone to see.

That said- I think that there is a better chance that he'll would freeze over than Vitello coming here right now.

I don't think we necessarily need to double it, but Looch did say that Trev is walking around with a "fat wallet" if need be.
Not only that, but we've got a new $80 mil stadium in the works. On top of a salary, the new HC will get to have a say in the stadium design without having to first campaign to even get one. I think that's huge.

Vitello can definitely be a hot head. But after seeing what's come to light about POS, I think Vitello not only wanted to win the natty, but had a personal vendetta against POS. And I don't really fault any of his antics during the CWS now.
