I would be very excited if we landed Earley back in some shape or form, but I do question why he would go to t.u. at all. He was not forced to go with the staff and could have easily gotten a job somewhere else if needed, why would he even consider t.u.?

sorry haven't read any other threads yet. But if he could be the Head Coach at A&M why couldn't he go anywhere else? He could have gotten a job somewhere else if he really wanted to. Either way i'd be happy to have him, but t.u. was not his only choice.

Easy to say this question is rather late than Earley

The hiring cycle was pretty much over by the time this ****storm happened. He would have few options and then need to pack up his family and move in short order. Not the best situation with a young family. He could absolutely get another job, it just might be for less pay at a small school which could hinder his career. The old skipper put a lot of his players and coaches in a bad situation, pretty much the definition of selfish.

That picture doesn't look like he is part of the traitors. He is leaning in and not looking comfy at all.

A down the hall hire? How have other Schloss assistants done as head coaches? I know Todd Whitting at UH. Who else? Does Tennessee coach count as Schloss assistant who went on to greatness? He didn't go directly to UT coach.
