I dont think an assistant interviewing for a head coaching job has ever been something that made Schloss show someone the door..he has a pretty good coaching tree and I think he's always encouraged that kind of growth (I could be wrong)

My greatest hope is he has not talked to that POS about it yet and then he questions him about it only to have Earley go in a rant telling him that's a selfish question only to accept the A&M job the following day. WRITE THAT!

A normal person wouldn't hold it against him but coach almost is far from normal so it would be in his best interest to find a new job.

I have tried to develop a habit in life that when I dislike someone or have a problem (especially professionally) I try to make sure it doesn't snowball where I misplace blame for things that aren't true... place the blame on what they are truly faulty of.. and I don't think I've ever seen or heard anything that insinuated he's tried to hold someone's career back.

He waited several weeks here to hire Yeskie, while waiting on Saarloos, who was waiting on TCU to name their successor.
I don't think there was any doubt amongst anybody that he wouldn't have brought Saarloos here in a heartbeat after all that played out, and that's why it took so long for Yeskie.
(Now, whether Saarloos would ever have come is an entirely different story).

my memory is slightly fuzzy, but TCU was never in any doubt that we were just promoting everyone on up the ladder. I dont remember any search or much time taken.
If Schloss truly loved A&M as much as he says (he doesn't) then it shouldn't burn a bridge since the 12th man is so special he could cry

I don't disagree that he wouldn't necessarily bear a grudge against an assistant interviewing for a promotion. I will note however that Tony Vitello might have a bit different perspective on the question of whether he's ever sideswiped one of his employees.

Schloss lied about Vitello to keep him at TCU when he was up for a job at a bigger program. Pissed Vitello off and that is how he ended up at Arky.

Signing his Texas deal wouldn't make him unattainable, bc that has a buyout.
Schloss and Texas "could" also just buy him out tomorrow- but likely wouldn't.
Schloss obviously likes Earley. What are they going to do- have an awkward conversation where Schloss says "You're flirting with other schools."?
