Nope, last renovations were free standing room area for 200 lucky drunk tailgaters, then a bar in right field. Also had to build a parking garage nobody can use bc parking at dischfaulk is a freaking nightmare.

if they transform any existing fixed seating to suites, its a poor design and they need to hire a different designer.

take a look at any decent baseball stands and you have two decks of open-air reserved seating surrounding home plate.

build up, or improve the outfield are the options.

at some point we may be space-limited ( Union Pacific, Student Rec)

whatever compromise has to be made is going to put a group out for a bit until they find a new normal, but just like an ant hill that gets rained on, everything will be okay tomorrow.

Disch-Falk is hemmed-in, even more than Blue Bell, by surrounding streets. They have announced that they're going back to a grass field when the turf needs to be replaced. They are getting a new scoreboard, and video boards, before next season.

When was the last time there was natural grass at Disch-Falk? Seems like I remember it being turf since I started watching college baseball in the early '80s.

Why does everyone say we are hemmed in anyway? I see no reason why we cannot build behind the current footprint and gain a ton of space but maintain the same sightlines, train tracks in the outfield, etc.

And we have $80M earmarked for this right? Surely we can do a 10K stadium for that with SRO area for another 2,500. Florida built their 7K stadium from the ground up for $65M just a few years ago.

If we did it like below you could build behind the current structure until 90% complete without disrupting the current stadium/field. then in one offseason demolish current stadium and finish the field area, fences, etc. and even some shaded outfield seating in LF. Maybe it exceeds the $80M. a bit. Surely we can get $100M if needed.

The stadium Reno, at least to the extent that Schloss dog was whining for was never necessary, nor a smart fiscal move. Put the money into the NIL fund, win on a consistent basis, then have a renovation.

We averaged 6500

Granted the midweek games don't draw as much but our home SEC series averaged:

MSU 6000
Auburn 6500
Vandy 7300
UGA 7600
Arky 7400

And for most of those we know another 1000-2000 were outside the stadium. Presumably they wanted in.

I don't think 10K is unreasonable and we might average 8k with the midweek games. But for SEC matches and postseason we will be filling that thing up. And for tu games and postseason getting 12,500 is likely with SRO areas.

We have 70,000 students and 600,000 living alumni. A 10k stadium for baseball ought to be easy to fill for any meaningful games.

I read that a number of SEC stadiums have already renovated or rebuilt since our last round of improvements.

NIL is important but so is staying in the leading edge of facilities and amenities.

In any case, what makes Olsen and Blue Bell special is the 12th Man and t.u. will never have that.

Tons of other parking on the west side. I mean we park enough for games at Kyle Field mostly on the west side.

Sure it's not as close but too bad. Worth it.
