I think Sorrell is our most important portal guy we need back. This is a freshman who can have a high BA and hit 20+ HRS. I think he is more important than Grahovac (who is damn good).

I think Sorrell will be arguably our best hitter next year. He is going to take a MASSIVE leap and I wouldn't be surprised to see him be considered a top 5 player in the country next year.

He's a great player and I think he will be back.

Not sure why one needs to state the most important. Gavin is actually more as far as guys in his classification.

Achenback getting another year is easily the biggest as well.

So many of them are all studs. Jace Kent Etc.

You think better than Jace or Grahovac. That would be something…..and I'd love to see it. If Appel, Schott, Ali and T Nut come back along with Asch…..holy cow look out. Next year could be better than this year. And I'm assuming Praeger goes but getting those guys back would be stupendous. And Kent is one hell of a hitter too! Would love for him to come back. Hope they all stay in the boat!

Seems like he's been pretty quiet about it. Might still be in negotiations.

Cortez seems to have been pretty quiet, too.

I have zero inside info and have no idea who is coming back…..just a hope and a wish. Hoping NIL gives them all a reason to run it back along with making he who shall not be named eat **** on the diamond.

Kent will battle for that if he comes back.

Think you are right on both Cortez and Appel. I'm betting they will see where they are drafted before making the final decision.

jackson is an interesting one because he is fully capable of playing pro ball, and is an incredible college player. However his draft stock is not high enough to where it is a no brainer. He could potentially make more money from NIL this year than his highest paid season in pro ball. So it's not completely out of the question.
(ps I don't think Appel is going to fail in the big leagues, I'm just saying he isn't going to get a massive contract)

I'm sure between the roku and bucees guys we can give them both enough reasons to come back.

Getting Sorrel, Gavin and Jace back are paramount to keeping them off Tennessee, LSU, or sip. Kent is most important of the 4 to get back. My opinion.
However if you told me I can take the 3 but lose Kent, I'd take that deal. Hoping they all come back and Bell changes his mind too.

Could be Gavin, Jace, Kent or Sorrell. We must keep all four.

But I do agree, at the end of their careers...my money is on Sorrell. He has a lot more muscle to add and already excels hitting. Most upside IMO and also an insanely good fielder.

I'll enjoy watching Christopher Cortez. Some organization is going to help him with his control issues, and he is MLB filthy.

Not sure Sorell comes back. He seems to be our hardest one to return. Wouldn't surprise me if he I playing in another uniform. Hope not because I agree, he is one of the best players on our roster.

Why is sorrell being talked about as a tough one to get back?

I feel like A&M can't have an NIL issue, pissed off billionaires should be willing to throw a couple million towards NIL.

A million dollars is pocket change to some of these donors.

A 10 million dollar NIL pool is enough to craft the greatest baseball team in NCAABB history lol, and that doesn't seem that hard to raise. ESPECIALLY coming off this special season where baseball at TAMU is at an all time high, and not to mention how Shloss put a fire under their ass.

Cortez may end being a first round pick. He!/ probably working with his agent on getting drafted.

Then I don't understand why he would leave, unless he was unhappy here. Didn't look like it. He was a starter.

He has 1/1 stuff. Filthiest arm we've ever had. Stilson is the closest I've ever seen.

First it was top 150. Now it's top 75. His control issues are overblown. I suspect there are multiple teams sitting inside 40 hoping nobody else has noticed. He has 3 wipeout pitches and never uses more than 2 of them.

If he had pitched for Augie Garrido or Cliff Gustafson, he would be in assisted living at this point from overuse.

Here's my question with all of them, TAMU just hired back the coach they were all posting about wanting back, so why is anyone still in the portal or a risk of leaving? They got what they asked for, so why aren't they all locked in?

Exactly, nothing more than mercs. Use the NIL money to replace them. They got what they wanted and then reneged and wanted more. Ags can buy a new team just as good as this one. NIL has destroyed college sports there is no going back. Mercenaries is all they are now.

This is the worst take I've seen. In no way a shot at you personally but this notion of "they abandoned us" doesn't work now. You will not find a roster as talented as ours in the portal right now. It doesn't exist. You get the guys you recruited back because you know they play well together and know your program. You do not give up on a championship roster. Sometimes this site still surprises me, in a bad way, with the amount of negativity.

Edited because on second read it was harsh and that was not my intention.

I dont take things out here personally, and did not think it was harsh. But to say the Aggies cannot buy a team out of the portal as good as this one, yet that is exactly what is happening. Yes some of those players are the same as the ones that asked for and received their favorite coach back. College sports used to be about the name on the front of the Jersey, now it is nothing but money that matters. The whole lot of them are mercenaries and that is fine that is what things have become. Poor entitled brats were raised on getting a trophy win or lose and money is the new trophy. Fine buy the new team I will cheer from afar but like with football and every other sport at that level I won't be taking anything personal and wont be claiming the proverbial "we". Just like I views the pros sports. That is my take, personal to me, if it is a bad one in your opinion that is fine. I don't care enough about it anymore to consider it a harsh opinion, just a different one.
