Money. ...and I'm not suggesting he's trying to bleed anyone, I have no idea.

The portal is about (1) playing time (2) money (3) spotlight or (4) a better situation.

To the best of my knowledge he has 3 of the 4 here at A&M. I don't know what his NIL deal is, nor do I know what anyone else is getting. Or what he's being offered by anyone else. But there's also no hurry for him to re-commit from any legal standpoint unless Earley tells him, "hey, you're back or we're taking your replace by 'X.'" He has all the time in the world. As as other folks come off the board the value for those remaining players goes up and up until people are full and it crashes. It's no different than playing the stock market and trying to sell at just the right time.

Us as well. Neighbors and their son (my son's good friend) is triple A with Detroit but spent the past 7 years in the minors. He made the right choice out of high school as he was early 2nd round, but he has to regret not playing college ball a little bit. No NIL back then but he signed for something like $1.4z

if it's going to be a development year, and your college coach can help your development, would you rather be in a college town advancing towards/finishing up your degree or taking long bus rides from Bristol TN or Dubuque Iowa?

I think he has serious potential. I like the kid a whole lot. I wouldn't say better than Gavin. But he's a high upside player.

Is there a deadline for the players in the portal to make a decision?

There has to be a date at some point that if you have not transferred by then, you cannot play for another school for the upcoming season.

Correct, they need to be enrolled at a school in time for the first week of class. Last year Braden didn't pick us until late July I believe

Before NIL, give me the $1.4M signing bonus and put me on a bus until I decide I don't want to do it anymore. With NIL, college all the way and it's not close.

Correct, they need to be enrolled at a school in time for the first week of class. Last year Braden didn't pick us until late July I believe

Yep. Funny when people act like minor league life sucks. It's a whole lot better now than it was when I left college that's for sure.

It's a grind, but it gives you consistent, almost every day live action and prepares you for the 6 day a week 6 month lifestyle that is the pros.

MiLB significantly reduced their footprint and increased their quality. There's guess that I think are legit better to stay in college another year, and then there's guys, like Cortez in my opinion, that need to make the jump.

I wouldn't be shocked if Sorrell isn't back. No intel but he will command a lot of NIL and there's probably a team that could outbid us given he would be like the 7th highest NIL guy for us but could be the #1 guy for another team
