Is the speed in which the assistant coaches "followed" including Earley. What was truly going on? All the coaches looked almost shell shocked in their tu photographs, and all but Earley changed their twitter to tu. Did sips really think all the coaches wanted to follow dip**** ? Were they coerced? Did they think we wouldn't go after any of them for head coach?

Now Earley needs to hire Cain as Assistant Head Coach.

Early needed a job. He has a young family. I doubt he could afford to sit out a year and wait for another gig.

If they weren't complicit in the coup, they all needed a job.

When schloss tells you. Hey I'm taking you if you wanna go. Your pay is going to 300k where Yalu make 150 here… oh and by the way. There is no guarantee you have a job when the new guy gets here, and furthermore, the hiring period for your positions nation wide is almost 2 weeks passed. Good luck or follow me.

To me that's an easy choice in the moment.

What don't you understand? "Guys, I got you covered. I'll double your salary. We are bringing a lot of the Aggie team with us. You won't find a better offer, now get in the car." This kind of thing happens in real life too with companies when they are bought out.

Cain was in on it a long time. Not sure about Max. Clearly Earley was notified after the CWS.

Schloss is a sociopath and knows who he can manipulate or in his words trust on his staff to do what he wants to do.

Schloss knew how close the players were to Earley. So he should know that doing this would bother him. So no way he was going to tell Earley until the last minute.

Fans need to quit bashing the assistants unless it is proven they were actively involved months ago. And honestly not sure if that makes a difference considering Schloss was controlling the information.

Anyone in their position with family obligations, would have followed Schloss too. Period....the end.

I would absolutely go to about any employer if you 2x my salary.

It's been discussed ad nausem. Assistant coaches don't make all that much relatively speaking. It way late in the year for coaching changes with very few viable options.
Think about the ultimatum…come with me and double your salary or be unemployed with a young family. A tough decision was made after being blindsided. Sometimes you make unpalatable choices to protect your family.

I honestly hope other schools come calling for Cain and Weiner. Leave ******** with nobody. Cain could be considered a for a HC position somewhere.

It's simple. Man has a family and needs job. He was 1) Guaranteed a job. 2) Offered better pay. 3) Had little time to decide. 4) Forced to risk Staying behind and possibly not having a job at all.

The new job was also 2 hrs down the road. It's not like he was asked to uproot his family across country. That's a hard pay bump to turn down.

This has been covered. Assistant coaches either took Schloss up on his offer to come with or took the chance of going a year with no job. What would you do? We won't ever really know which coaches had more a few hours to make that call but pics from presser are quite interesting, are t they? Do they look excited to anyone?

Forget about it. The guy played at Indiana and coached at Arizona State before coming here. Why would he not follow his boss to Austin for twice the pay? The players seem to love him. I'm just happy we got him! He will be our Tony V. Looks like our AD has some common sense.

Curious if Earley and the others had already signed contracts with tu? Did we have to buy out Earley's contract? Not that I mind as it was probably a small amount but just curious how that would have gone down.

I don't think they would have been in front of the cameras at that press conference if they had not already signed contracts.

I was told that Earey found out at 3 am after the final loss. It was presented by Schloss as a package deal - we are all going and I'm going to make all of you rich - but all of you have to come with me. Apparently Cain and Weiner had been in on it for a while already so they were prepared. Earley was not. No better time to pull off a coup than when someone is mentally and physically exhausted. That's exactly when a person can be most easily manipulated. More stuff right out of the playbook

If the HC leaves, the gig is up. Maybe the next guy retains you but that doesn't happen often at all. The new guy always wants to bring their buys, because it's their neck on the line.

there is more about this and decisions than just money.... you have a wife and kids, a good husband and dad puts that first... and there is such a thing as wanting a good place for family to be raised ect... lot of people dont want to raise the kids and family in huge cities... I turned money down to live in Houston and work, its just not for me Im not a big city person. There is a great culture and positive environment in BCS for raising kids... many people move here just for that, and lots leave and go back where they came from after they all grow up.

I personally hope he can get all of the assistants back to A&M. They're the ones that got the players ready to win. It's not a good time to psychoanalyse what was going through every one's mind. Get the best supporting cast and move on. I like the hire of Earley.

I don't think Wiener was a well liked as a lot of people think he was, basically the entire pitching staff announced they were staying immediately

If they leave, we do not buy out the contract. The next place does if it exists. Contracts don't work for voluntary separation...

Is there evidence Cain was in on it? Genuinely curious. My perspective has been those guys didn't have an option due to lack of job security if someone else comes in. Staying was a big unnecessary risk for them. Would love to get Cain back if he wasn't in on it. They can have Max. He fits in there in Austin.

Like many, I was curious why Earley never changed his social media from Texas A&M. He was signaling.

There has been speculation based on his son telling his basketball team in early June that they were moving, but that's is pure speculation right now

I'll be the first to point out in my other posts, I was teetering on giving up on College Baseball completely if players also left. My point was (and still is), that I am not sure I wanted to watch anymore if we now are in an era where everyone's statements, from the coaches down to the players, are all essentially platitudes and all of them (at any school) would transfer at the drop of a hat to follow money (coaches just to cash out from making a name at one school to get a hungry school to pay them more, players just chasing NIL).

That said, as I see the Earley hire unfold, I'm eating crow and really support this, and the public statements the players are making are heart-warming and do help restore some trust that loyalty does still exist in the college baseball world. Perhaps we just hit one of those rare a-hole head coaches that did it in a way that made this seem worse than it really was. We'll see if any players actually follow that "man" of low integrity (my gut is saying no, now), but I totally accept this piece of crow pie that today seems to be serving up.

My sense is Earley, yes, was somewhat railroaded into almost making the change. But like others, I'd like to learn more of the details of why / how this happened.

Weiner and Cain knew ahead of time. Word is, at least one of them was actively trying to get some of our current players to go with them to tu. DO NOT WANT!
